[history]
The prosecutor in the Kobe Bryant rape case says he has slam-dunk evidence to prove the NBA superstar's guilt, it was revealed on the eve of the hoopster's first court appearance today. Eagle County District Attorney Mark Hurlbert made that strong claim in court papers arguing against making public the police affidavit written to justify Bryant's arrest early last month.

Rapists are known to "engage" in that type of "rough sex"... Any evidence of rough sex would be bad for Kobe. I haven't see any, yet.

Much has been made that the victim was seeking attention. However, it seems to me that if this was the case she would have bragged about having sex with the great Kobe Bryant-not charged him with rape. She could have told all her groupie friends every detail and become a groupie clebrity. Charging Kobe with rape doesn't fit the attention seeker M.O. It does fit a revenge scenario, but the cheerleader didn't spend enough time with him for this to be logical. The gold-digger theory doesn't work either because she could have gotten money out of him by threatening to tell his wife or threatening to sell her story to the tabloids.

... poor Kobe is just a shy wallflower ... Kobe likes attention. That is not in dispute. I don't really see how it applys here, though.
Attempted (Fake) suicide attempts are a cry for attention. A false accusation for rape could be a desperate cry for attention.
Kobe may crave the spotlight, but he doesn't need something like this to be in it. He is already famous.

I don't care except if an investigation deems them relevant, too, but you are wrong to characterize the calls as "available" implying that all there is to be known about those calls has been revealed. True enough. Her calls are totally unavailable. Kobe's are for the most part available.
That still doesn't seem fair to me. Considering this girl's past, I'm guessing they might be relevant

other than their client, who doesn't really care how he gets off so long as he does That's what got Kobe into trouble in the first place...

It does fit a revenge scenario, but the cheerleader didn't spend enough time with him for this to be logical. It may. If they had consensual sex, and then he tossed her out, she may have felt quite jilted. (As a married man it looks like he was just after some sex, she on the other hand, may have hoped or wanted more. Since she reacted to her last break up with a suicide attempt, it seems within realm of possibilities that this time she also over-reated and decided she would not be jilted, she would make him pay.

There's a new article on Drudge about her vaginal tearing. This trial is going to be rated X. We are going to see exhibits of cartoon genitalia with little arrows pointing to where Kobe's manhood allegedly ripped her up. Newspaper headlines will include "Vulval lacerations" and "40 mph penile thrusting." Hustler will go out of business.

This must be from the same source who provided the six stiches info on Fox: how awful. If I were on a jury this sort of evidence would make me thing "guilty".

I had no way to justify watching the O.J. case every single day...however, I did have a very cool boss who let me move my office into the conference room (with cable) for the duration of the trial.
The first day Kato testified, business came to a standstill, because all of us and all of the customers were transfixed. It was hilarious.

On Saturday night on Fox News, Mickey Sherman stated that the girl had to have six stitches for vaginal repair.
I hadn't seen a written source, so I never posted about it.
This may be the evidence the article is talking about.

He thought about it long and hard before deciding. If this was a 'slam dunk', he would have acted faster. Well, it must have been a difficult decision. Hopefully he knew about the accuser's weak past, and that should cause anyone without a videotape of the alleged crime pause. Here's the thing: if he had gone forward quickly, he might have regrets now that he was taking an unwinnable case to court. But since he thought it out and still chose to go forward, methinks he really felt after sleeping on it that Kobe could be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

"Are you awake yet?" is SG foreplay....

Frankly, that is about the number of stitches for an episiotomy, the surgery required after a baby's head rips up a woman's privates. Oh my! That sounds like a truly serious injury.

That is very funny. Alas, when you have kids, sometimes it is the only type of foreplay possible in North Georgia as well(where I live) . LOL
