Question:

You excerpted the article as to not include that the woman had post partum depression and was on medication. She was married and had the child, therefore she did not have an abortion.

So what if she is a professor. The woman had a terrible condition, a condition that several conservative women have as well.

It is horrible that this baby is dead. What makes you think that it is a time to mock her?

Your right - she is mentally ill and its not funny or a point for sarcasm. Still, I can see two different reactions to the incident. One from pro-life conservative, another from fellow feminists.

She choose death. It is very sad.

I don't agree with mocking her, but I also don't agree with your interpretation of the situation. Thousands of women suffer from this 'terrible condition' each year and manage to get through it without murdering their children. I refuse to accept postpartum depression as rationale for infanticide.

The baby is dead because the mother MURDERED IT!!! She deserves far worse than mere mockery. A society that cannot condemn this act without trying to find excuses for the perpetrator is a dying society.

I have no pity for this woman at all. She deserves shunning, scorn, castigation, mockery, trial, and execution. It should be public and loud as a suitible object lesson for other women tempted to do the same crime.

It is high time people stopped equating having a "reason" for doing something (post-partum depression) with having an "excuse" for doing it.

Perhaps we have slightly different ideas about what it means for a mother to cut the throat of her six month old baby.

I could care less what her "condition" was !! She MURDERED her BABY !!

Why do people seem to go out of their way to make excuses for women who murder their children? The fact that it's extremely unnatural doesn't excuse her, it makes it more horrific.

She'll probably get off with three weeks probation and five hours community service - from a female judge.

I'd give her the chair, and throw the switch myself. I don't like people who murder children.
