(BARDSTOWN, Ky., August 4th, 2003, 4:30 pm) -- The massive wooden structure was ablaze and firefighters were focused on three nearby warehouses, said Bardstown City Administrator Larry Green.
"Only one of them is on fire and they're working to make sure that it stays that way and to contain the burning whisky that's coming out of that warehouse," Green said

Here ya are, a bottle of the green...
Honestly, I can't recall where I had some awful green label bourbon or who made it(I suppose the fact I can remember anything about it is a pluss). For some reason Jim Beam it was the first thing to come to mind.

"...I've been mailing him a few bottles of Jim every month or so (apparently it's ok, but they can't get it over there)." You, my dear Lady, are a true friend and PATRIOT. God Bless You.
I'm apparently very popular with his crew, too. ::lol:::. He shares it.

At this hour, 80,000 gallons have been consumed (by the fire, that is!), and the fire is officially contained.
There's alcohol in the stream nearby, but it's under control.

And, the Ted Kennedy remarks are totally inappropriate. Bourbon is an American drink made in America, for Americans. Teddy drinks vodka, lots of vodka. Teddy's drink is scotch - preferably Chivas Regal.

Sad -- but it's only bourbon. You sir are a cad, and your taste in sippin' whiskey leaves much to be desired.
Scotch whikey is for girly men.
Real American men drink Bourbon!

Whiskey is 80 proof or so, maybe more in some cases. Percentage is roughly 1/2 of proof. Maximum proof is 200, which is 100% alcohol. So this whiskey is mostly 40% alcohol, which is enough to burn. You can't get 200 proof that is drinkable. Ethanol forms an azeotrope with water that boils off at 78.15 degrees. Pure ethanol has a boiling point of 78.3 degrees C. The azeotrope is 95% ethanol/5% water...190 proof. To get 100% ethanol, you add benzene to carry off the water, but that makes it unfit for consumption.
