SNIP....
Already 24 conservative US bishops, have threatened a permanent break with the church if Robinson is confirmed.
The Archbishop of Canterbury previously had issued a veiled plea for the Episcopal Church to desist from the appointment.
The Episcopal Church will also decide this week on whether to accept the blessing of same-sex unions.

What will be the last straw?
Will it be the torture of a child?
The murder of an unborn saint?
The victory of evil in the world?
Or the day His Church chooses (with full knowledge and debate) darkness over the light....

My guess is that the Episcopalians will confirm the bishop and not yet bless gay marriages in an attempt to prevent the inevitable schism. [I don't think it'll work.]

What will be the last straw? The appointment of Bill Clinton as a lay-Preacher in Harlem.

That just might do it.

Conservative Bible-beliving Episcopalians should not fool themselves. They Episcopalian church at the national level was captured by the radical left long ago. By the time your denomination starts seriously considering homosexual ministers, the battle was fought and lost long ago.
Conservative Bible-believing Episcopalians should understand this and either urge their church to find a conservative fellowship to send their $'s to, or, failing that, simply leave and find a Bible-preaching church.

The answer is (e) Or the day His Church chooses (with full knowledge and debate) darkness over the light....
The gay bishop is only one more step along the path. There are a few more yet to go, IMO.

This is a bit off the subject, although I agree with your point.
Please post more of your poetry! My wife and I have followed and collected your work from the days of the Poet Laureat competition.
You are the real poet laureat of Free Republic, and your inventon? (I am not sure that is the right word) of the short Haiku, I forget what you called it, is masterful.
Many in my office try to write in the form you write, and my wife has posted your work on her poetry site.
I understand there were problems at the Poetry branch, but please continue with your work. So many people enjoy it.

There are a few notable exceptions. Lutheran Missouri Synod churches and southern Baptist churches have refused to move left. Assembly of God and non-denominational Bible churches continue to hold aloft the Biblical standard.

Hi, wonderful, as always!
I sure am missing the poetry branch here.

You are very kind. I am not sure where to post now, but I will try.

Good to see you as well.
Is there any place to post poetry now? I do so miss Coteblanche...

I concur. The Episcopal Church will not be able to forstall a real schism over this issue. The Episcopal Bishop of Albany, New York, Daniel Herzog, is that rare thing in the ECUSA: an orthodox Christian who is also a "company man". He's been actively involved in the ECUSA's bureacracy at the highest levels and no one -- not even the looniest leftist -- in the ECUSA would describe him as a homophobe or a reactionary. Well, Bishop Herzog was one of the American bishops who a couple of weeks ago signed the "this is the line in the stand" statement. I've been following Bishop Herzog's career with interest -- it's so much more heartening than following Bishop Spong's -- and I predict he will bolt the ECUSA if/when this gay bishop is approved. Whether Herzog remains in the Anglican Communion, I can't predict. Eventually, he may convert to Catholicism or Orthodoxy. (Herzog's never prublicly mentioned converting; this is conjecture on my part.)
Keep your eye on Bishop Daniel Herzog of Albany, New York. How this brave man responds to this debacle in the ECUSA will be interesting, to say the least.

Do you realize what this is saying? That church will fire a cleric for sleeping with various women, but not for sleeping with various men? Both cases are wrong, and both are considered sin, but it is PC to have a gay leader who is sexually promiscuous.
It is a sad day for episcipalians when they ignore the Word of God.
To: Zack Nguyen
I am a practicing Roman Catholic who's a big fan of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. I don't know how any orthodox Christian can remain in the Evangelical Lutheran Chruch in America. That denomination has sold out real Christianity (pro-abortion) and real Lutheranism (semi-merger with Episcopal Church). The real theological distinctions between Missouri Synod Lutherans and ROman Catholics notwithstanding, I assert that Missouri Synod Lutherans have more in common with Roman Catholics than with ELCA Lutherans.
