Can somebody please tell me whether David Duke was actually the Lousiana Republican Party's "Candidate" or if he simply ran in the primary? Thanks.

A sign proclaimed the building the "Southern Home Improvement Center,"

That’s kinda funny.

The weirdos at least have a sense of humor.

Duke is a bad penny who will continue to turn up at someone's door for several decades to come.

No criminal charges have been filed in the church case, but Sanders said it had been turned over to federal authorities.

And charged with exactly what? Daring to THINK and BELIEVE differently?

...Republican gubernatorial candidate...
...all as a Republican...

Now, if Duke had been running on the other side, does anyone think that they'd even have mentioned him?

No criminal charges have been filed in the church case, but Sanders said it had been turned over to federal authorities. "We have made contact with the FBI (news - web sites) and it is theirs from here on out," he said.

I'm hoping they turn over every Nation of Islam mosque they come across for investigation by Federal authorities, as well.

What, you mean it's not about a church espousing racist beliefs, just the "wrong" racist beliefs?

It would be so strange that nobody went "shopping" there except on Sundays.

Both Jesse Jackson and David Duke believe in affirmative action.

JJ wants it for blacks and DD wants it for whites.

It's funny that they stress Duke's self-styled 'republicanism' twice but neglect to mention his past affiliation with the Dem party.

I do not have any material on hand to document the GOP's disavowal of Duke, but I believe the GOP did not endorse him. He switched parties and ran as a 'republican,' but I do not believe the party ever endorsed/supported him.

Duke ran as a Republican, but wasn't accepted or supported by the Republicans. The RNC investigated ways to excommunicate him from the party. They were loud in their denunciation of Duke.

That's my point. Unless he actually won the backing of the party, he was not actually "running as a Republican." Unlike Sen. Byrd, who is revered within his own party.

If they press charges against them, they need to press charges against the NAACP too. The NAACP is just as much a hate group as the white supremacists.

Black conservative ping

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

During the infamous Lousiana governor's race between Duke and Edwards (the Crook), GHW Bush specifically endorsed Edwards, and flat-out stated that Duke did not represent the real Republican party.

I believe that are no "official" party candidates in Louisiana elections. For example two demos and two Pubbies could run in the general election.

If the top vote getter gets 50% plus 1, he/she is declared the winner.

If none of the candidates gets a majority, the top two vote getters are put in a run off election.

These idiots can think and believe whatever they want, as long as it doesn't translate into action.

However, it makes me sick to my stomach that they try to gain legitimacy by proclaiming themselves a "Christian" church.
