MK Ariel: Time to Reconquer Bethlehem
Israel National News ^ | 10:41 Aug. 04, '03 / 6 Av 5763

(IsraelNN.com) “After last night’s terrorist attack,” Knesset member Uri Ariel (National Union) said today, “Bethlehem must be re-conquered.”

Ariel, a member of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, said that he would warn the Prime Minister at today’s committee meeting not to repeat the failures of Oslo and allow the PA to default on its commitments without serious consequences.

The road map to peace is for Israel to pick a defensible border, and seal it. End of story.

Those Israelis living outside this border must be compensated and relocated to the safe side of the line. Those Arabs on the Israeli side of the line who are not willing to live under Israeli rule should similarly be compensated and relocated to the Arab side of the line.

There should be no entry by land permitted from the Arab side of the line until hostilities are ended, really ended, and have been over for some years. The Arabs on the Arab side of the line can re-attach themselves to Jordan, or Egypt, or whatever suits their fancy but access to Israeli markets by land should not be part of the bargain for some time into the future.

Anyone traveling from to Israel from the West Bank can fly by way of Amman and Cyprus. But really, there shouldn't be any good reason to do so.

I, for one, hope that the Israelis do reconquer it, and hold it indefinetly. A 'nation' like the Palestinians certainly does not deserve it, at any rate. (Actually, come to think of it, I don't think that they deserve any land at all...)

Re the Pallies: The other Arabs despise them, and want them unhappy so they cause trouble for Israel. They had a "homeland" - it's called Jordan. But because of their mindlessly vile nastiness, they're not welcome there anymore. BTW Israel should be at least twice as big as it is...

Maybe the talk of Powell's departure is a signal that the Roadmap has finally gotten on President Bush's nerves, too.

It's been on mine since about day five. I had a brief moment of joy when I thought it was a "roadmap to peace." Then I found out that it was really a roadmap deeper into the bowels of hell when we continued pressuring Israel to give "concessions."

Israelis should concede not to drop napalm on anyone but Arafat, at least until the next terrorist attack. Then they should concede not to drop napalm anywhere else but each known terrorist residence or stronghold (it's splashy, we know that from Vietnam). After that, they should concede not to drop napalm and flechette ordnance anywhere but the terrorist headquarters in Damascus.

Israel gave up Bethlehem? Now what is the Bethlehem Bible College going to do - obviously close up, if it hasn't done so already. They teach Christian Palestinians. THAT probably won't fly in a non-Christian Palestinian Bethlehem.

I just tried to access the Bethlehem Bible College web site - CLOSED - "The page cannot be displayed." But their new Gaza Strip Branch has an active web site.

Here's a web site that has journal entries re Bethlehem. This one talks about a home being blown up:

OK, I found out more about what happened to the Bethlehem Bible College --- they were bombed. Part of a report from their pres., Bishara Awad, whom I've seen speak at my last church in Orlando FL:
"...But darkness still threatens to eclipse the land of His birth, and chaos continues to reign in the wake of His resurrection. For three days following Easter, on April 16, 17 and 18, Bethlehem was the target of the most ferocious artillery exchanges to date and the College sustained significant damage as a result..."

Funny isn't it, that all of the colleges and universities in "Palestine" seem to have been founded under the oppressive Israeli "occupation." I wonder how that could be.

The PA terrorists who commenced that attack injuring 4, 2 seriously, came from Bethlehem, a city that was turned over to PA "security" as part of a "gesture" to Abu Mazen.

Of course they did not mention that the terrorists were firing FROM the college and that is why the return fire damaged the college.

I thought there was something fishy about the way it was reported.

This is the site. It wasn't active the other day.
So, doesn't it make your head hurt trying to comprehend Christian Palestinians? That must really tick off the other Palestinians. Isn't there something in the Koran about death to those who leave their faith?
