[history]
Attorney General Bill Lockyer issued a stern warning to fellow Democrat Gov. Gray Davis on Thursday: Run the kind of "trashy ... puke" campaign you did last year and a lot of prominent Democrats will vote to recall you and give the job to Republican Richard Riordan.

"It was a puke campaign and I didn't like it," Lockyer said. "I think it's a disservice to voters and the profession. I'm just tired of that stuff. Lockyer's doing one of two things. He's either setting himself up as "Mr. Clean," the honest politician, for the '06 Goober election, or he's setting the stage for him to announce himself to run in the recall election to replace Davis.

From the second article: Boxer: "...I'm mature enough and have been in this
business long enough..."
Exactly what business are you in Boxer? One thing's for sure, you and your Democreep colleagues have been giving the business to California for as long as you've been Senator. Maybe that's why so many businesses in California are in the process of picking up and moving to other states.

Ha! Some may be getting nervous. The rest sound like they'll be getting even.

I attended a conference soon after the 2002 election debacle ended. Lockyer was the keynote speaker, and he made a remark about the Florida Supreme Court being the "stupidest court in the country." My point is simply that there may be some decency and propriety lurking in the big ol' Rat. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day, you know.

Good point. I don't know why our esteemed senators should expect to get out of the current debacle unscathed.
Its time for them to get splashed with a little of the same dung Gray's been wearing.

I disagree. Lockyer is a lawyer and the Florida Supreme Court does have a bad reputation in the legal community. I.e., he was just admitting that the sun rises in the east. Trust me, Lockyer is not a good guy.

Don't you dare do it again or we're just going to help pull the plug. While my initial response to that would be to agree, I have to think he's being a bit arrogant.
Davis is history with or without ther dimRAT party's help.

State and national Democratic leaders told reporters in a conference call Thursday that the party is standing firmly behind Davis, despite calls from some congressional Democrats to draft Sen. Dianne Feinstein as an alternative candidate on the Oct. 7 ballot. Davis cannot put his own name on the list of candidates to replace him, and some Democrats want to make sure Californians have another party leader to vote for if the recall succeeds. Hmmmm..... who to get?
Wait a moment..... wait a moment..... ZING! Lightning strikes!
How about.... none other than..... William Jefferson Clinton????

I thought of this one too the other day. It would be great to get him out of our east-coast hair.
What about Ralph Nader? Isn't he a California resident? I think he'd stand a good chance. Not that that would be good for California, but I wonder why his name never comes up. It would prove he was serious and not just a gad-fly, altho' he is, in truth, just a gad-fly, so I guess that fly just won't!

Reports that the wheels have come off my second term can be attributed to
petty partisan politics. Clearly this isn't true!

I just love a good editorial cartoon, but sometimes they really bug me. Davis has shown what an incompetant idiot he is, but he's the only one in the line-up that's drawn as a person. The rest are an assortment of outcasts. If Davis isn't the biggest jerk out of the group I can't imagine who would be.
To: Thud
Of course they are nervous. Every time the people use their power it makes them nervous.
How dare those sheep?

By law, Californians have the right to fire the governer.
It takes a lot of work to start the process.
This tells me that Grayout has really made his constituents unhappy with his job performance. If not, the question would never have come up.
NO. I live in Texas.

Notice that "pro-choice" is, as usual, described as the "moderate" position. Pro-life, of course, must be assumed to be radical.
