Phoenix Elementary School District, eager to fortify its enrollment, on Wednesday sent its employees to the streets as part of a districtwide, door-to-door campaign to get more pupils.
The district enticed its employees to volunteer for a one-hour walk through neighborhoods with a bonus, up to $250 per employee, if district enrollment increases.

{When asked whether she would enroll her child there, Alphin said, "Maybe, when she gets into regular school."
Jan Lindsey, assistant superintendent for human resources, said, "We hope to increase student enrollment, we want neighborhoods to know that our school is starting (Monday), we want them to choose our school." }
I wonder how the educrats would react if the parents said they're homeschoolers.

Arizona has a very strong Charter School movement, and a large contingent of Homeschollers.
But, homeschooling isn't for everyone, and as Public School enrollment declines due to the natural maturation of Neighborhoods, homeschollers who would like to "mainstream" are really the last untapped "market".
There has been a massive 'attitude adjustment' on behalf of some PS Districts in the last year.

I bet they are really going around to find out how many kids are homeschooled and if so, I would not be surprised if when they do this, they jot down the address.

However, our governor is very much anti-homeschooling and I have a sneaky suspicion that she will see to it that there are more regulations in place. Remember, Tom Horne, current Supt. of Public Instruction, also feels that homeschoolers ought to be regulated.

our governor is very much anti-homeschooling Homeschooling keeps our young (the next generation) out of the indoctrination centers, and actually educates them. The governor can't accept that!

The educrats will probably give the addresses to the Brunette Hillary, who in turn, will hand the data over to the CPS. Thus, the Brunette Hillary can continue in her Jihad to "care for AZ's children".

In my neighborhood parents seem to be sending their children to charter schools or sending them to the Phoenix Elementary off shoots of Magnet Traditional or Kennilworth (Montessori). They consider themselves charter schools, even though they are still funded by the district.
I wish there were more homeschoolers in the downtown area.
