Even so, I could put up with occasional practice with a very small, very light, .45.

I don't know how small and how light you are thinking of, but the EAA Witness Polymer Compact in .45 ACP is a joy to shoot. It has a ported barrel and produces less *felt* recoil than my 1911A1. Kind of hard on your night vision maybe, but I've never shot it in the dark, so I don't know for certain. Doesn't seem all that bad in a low light indoor range.

One of my proudest moments was when she qualified for her M-1.

She had a nice shooting outfit and as women go, she was more concerned how she looked than how she shot. She was shooting a mini-14 and if I would have know about the heat problem with that thing, I would never have offered it to her.

We're going to me married for thirty years except by then, we will have only lived with each other for 24.

That's the way it goes.

I saw a guy at the mall the other day wearing a photographers vest and I just knew he was carrying. Like you said, it's the uniform of the CCW people. I finally convinced a friend he can forget about the vest if he started wearing Hawaiian Shirts. He looks better that way, anyway.

"My wife said it's either me or the guns. I'm going to miss the old girl."

I'm pretty sure my wife knows my answer would be similar to yours...which is why our marriage is so stable.

A long time ago I knew a policeman who carried a small .38 revolver clipped inside the pants at the center of his back. He always wore shirts that had square cut tails and did not tuck them in. This gave him almost instant access to his weapon.

However, some of the shirts he wore were too thin to adequately conceal the piece. If you go with this carriage, check in a mirror and then have someone you trust check your appearance as well.

FR's admin mods are going overboard at times. Even so, it's the best site around, if you can avoid getting baited into a flame war which will result in your being banned. There are some little $#!+s around here who specialize in getting folks banned that way, and brag about it.

Dark and printed tops work the best. I have a large amount of shirts that have the flat bottoms from Hawaiian Shirts to knit shirts. I use a Galco Royal Guard IWB holster and converted to smooth grips because the textured rubber grips were sawing away my skin.

When I was practicing, I could draw and hit a plate from 18 feet away in 1.8 seconds. I know that doesn't sound fast but any faster and I was missing.

I should start a thread on the guns I've broken.

Paging Eaker..........

I have never broken one of my own guns!!! As long as one doesn't count the incident with my Glock 22.

These have a nice tidy revolving 22rf firing pin disc on the hammer face that is advanced 90° with each hammer pull.

They are nice to balance off my big Colt SAs.

Value on these goes up so much I hate to sell one.

Have a "diversified" collection of small derringers and spur trigger revolvers. Trigger locks keep falling off them.

My walls have that dainty sensitive look; have one old Colt SA skeleton stock rig and my Colt Army walnut stock across from my bookcase.

Crossed sabres on another wall; one Reb, one Yank.

Old leather rigs hanging on pegs; the modern stuff tucked and hidden away until used.

Biggest Smith I have is an 1893 BT .44-40DA. Not as nice looking asa Colt but sure beats SAs for reloading.

All the libs get deathly quiet when they come over for a party or for dinner; after a while they start asking if they could handle an old hogleg, saying they are big western movie fans.

Funny, nobody ever tries to break in around here.

Did you ever see the late 19th century "volley fire" rifles that have all many small integral subcaliber barrels going off with one pull of the trigger?

DGW has some occasionally in their small antique arms catalogs.

America has an interesting history of firearms design and manufacturing.

Now all the pols can do is attempt to ban and restrict them.

All these gun grabbers like DiFi and Andrew Cuomo have carry permits themselves.

Gotta finish fitting a set of 1st SA grips late tonight.

Take care sports fans

No, I haven't. Please post more info and pics if you have them. I am intrigued!

If you look closely at the folks who follow the POTUS and other White House brass when they visit the desert, you'll see LOTS of those vests nearby!

Yep. Dead giveaway. They're either security or fresh in-country arrivals who think that everyone here wears one. Actually, no one does! 'cept them, of course.
