I made the occasional deposit when I was in school. Heck, for $25.00 a pop it's easy money. And boy let me tell you that $5,000 came in handy.

They tell me the sperm banks don't check and they just sort of get carried away with their personal descriptions.

You mean smart kids don't whack off in a doctor's office???

Even more frightening, you could find yourself dating you ex wifes half sister and living an unintended sequel to the original horror story.

"wow... we could have half-brothers marrying half-sisters... what about their off-spring?"

There would be very little difference between such offspring and that of unrelated individuals. A slightly higher rate of a few types of genetic problems, but not much.

For a long time, it was thought that cousins had a much higher risk of genetic disorders in their offspring, but that has proven not to be the case. The risks are only marginally higher.

Half-brothers and sisters might be slightly higher a risk, but not a hugely higher. Not really a problem.

Or West Virginia. [grin] Actually, I'm not sure those are valid issues. I'll bet the frequency of genetic disorders is not really significantly different in either of those states than in the rest of the country.

And what happens when they grow up and start to date? What if a half brother and his half sister meet and fall in love without knowing their relationship? And what happens if they get married and have children? Are we going to have village idiots running around?

So, we have successful married couples (assuming they are somewhat educated and can afford this process) versus the unwed welfare recipient/drug addict with 9 kids from random strangers. Hmmmm, tough choice.

It's not out of the question because we know, scientifically, what interfamily breeding produces

Thanx to our good friends in the State of Kentucky!
