South Texas Republicans The Van To Van de Putte Be Part Of An Historic Trip To New Mexico! July 30, 2002 Dear Beverly,

Eleven Democrat State Senators have fled the Great State of Texas and have shutdown the Chamber in order to protect their fellow liberal Democrat Congressmen and to prevent the passage of a redistricting plan that respects the will of Texas voters.

Instead of doing the job they were hired to do, Democrats are relaxing in a New Mexico hotel within distance of two casinos and numerous plush golf courses.

On Saturday, August 2nd, Joe Solis, Political Liaison and Co-Founder of South Texas Republicans, will be leading a delegation of concerned citizens to Albuquerque, NM to meet with Senator Leticia Van de Putte. He plans to discuss constituent concerns regarding the recent walkout.

We invite you to join us or to email us with your concerns. Joe looks forward to presenting Senator Van de Putte with hundreds of emails from her concerned and under-represented constituents.

"We want to sit down with our Senator to understand why she felt it necessary to abandon her constituents and the citizens of Texas", said Joe Solis. "I am concerned that my wife, my daughter and my business have no representation in Austin because of this highly partisan walkout".

EVENT DETAILS: We are still working on the details however tentative plans call for departure from San Antonio early Saturday morning (8/2) and a meeting with Senator Van de Putte on Sunday morning (8/3). The return is tentatively scheduled for Sunday afternoon. Associated expenses will be the responsibility of each participant.

Plese email us ASAP if you are interested in joining our Van To Van de Putte. And, if you can't join us in person, send us an email expressing your concerns. We'll be most pleased to hand-deliver them to the Senator!

We welcome all concerned citizens to be part of this historic trip to New Mexico!

Any body up for a road trip? (Why do I want to say "We've got a convoy?)

Let's converge on NM from all parts of the country. We have to stop this thing before all States are infected by flighty Democrats.

For those who want to act *today* there is a meeting in San Antonio at 2 PM at Rhodes Elementary. Local GOP representatives and Senators and others will be there to discuss the impact the flight of the Chicken D's has on Texas' school financing.

The address is 5714 N. Knoll in San Antonio. More details and driving instructions are on the Texas Profiles page.

How about this idea:

Someone publish the address of the hotel the Texas democrap wimps are hiding in.

Call the press and have them track the Post Office guy or UPS guy making deliveries.

We all start sending obviously marked packages of disposable diapers, baby rattles, talcum powder for their red a$$es, baby learns to talk books, etc.

Make sure it is huge and the press (national and local) are well aware of what’s coming.

Could be fun!

By the way, to quote a previously famous liberal fake country band, “I’m ashamed these wimpy democrats are from Texas”.

What?!? They've run away again?!? I haven't heard anything on the news but then I've only had on FNC. My tax $$$ at work again - not. Send out the Texas Rangers and haul them back for a good ol' fashioned tar and feathering on the capital lawn. Actually, let 'em keep wasting tax payers' money and time and see it they seats aren't occupied by Republicans toot sweet. Hmmm, wonder if we can ask for a recall and boot them out even sooner.

Any chance NM would honor an arrest warrent from Texas? Any chance the Texas Sergeant at Arms would issue such a warrent or get one from a Texas court?

I doubt it since our illustrious governor has ordered the state patrol to "protect" the vermin.

What?!? They've run away again?!?

This time it's all the D state senators, less one. Last time it was most of the D representatives. Otherwise SOS.

The governor should confiscate all their assets and return them only after the Rats return to Texas to face charges of dereliction of legislative duty. Until that time they are persona non grata and all assets are forfieted.

Why not simply face reality, declare them to have abdicated, and replace them as necessary?

None whatsoever. What the Dems have done is a lowdown dirty trick, but it does not violate any law. No criminal consequences can attach to the simple act of leaving the state when the legislature is in session. If they have done anything else which might be considered criminal, I haven't heard of it.
