The media elite, Hollyweird elite, and French keep bringing up the "fact" that we haven't found any WMD and that we exaggerated the claims to justify the war (for oil, of course.)
I would suggest, however, that in a country the size of California, it's difficult to find things. For instance, we haven't yet found the POW from Gulf War I (grave/body/etc.) and we KNOW he's still there.
To put this all in perspective, let's look at this mathmatically:
- Iraq is 169,235 square miles. Yes, there is water, but there is also a neutral zone between Iraq and Saudi Arabia administered jointly by the two countries. Iraq's portion covers an additional 1,360 sq. miles. And, who is to say that the Nut didn't bury things in the water? (By the way, California is about 163,707 sq. miles.)
- 169,235 sq. miles is about 411.4 mi. by 411.4 mi.
- Or 2,172,096 feet by 2,172,096
- Or 4,718,001,024,000 square feet
- If they dug one foot deep throughout the country, this would be 10,247,951,172,244,340,736 cubic feet. One can assume they wouldn't have to dig through the whole country to find these missing items, but at the same time, it's unlikely they would only have to dig one foot deep
- It's also interesting that, when all was said and done, all of the "missing" items from the "looted" Baghdad Museum were found in vaults - http://stacks.msnbc.com/news/923487.asp?cp1=1
MORAL OF THE STORY: Just wait a bit longer. Digging through 10,247,951,172,244,340,736 cubic feet of sand takes awhile. Just look at how long it's taking the City of Boston to dig a measly little tunnel for a highway through town (a minor 432,000,000 cubic feet or 1/23,722,109,195th of what they may have to move in Iraq.
Just my $.02 for the liberal media.
GWB of course has said they will be found. Some weapons experts , David Kay,etc. say likewise. Lotsa folks got their reps resting on such finds. I sure hope they do! Of course I am just glad the Saddamites are gone, from Iraq. Now if we could only expel them from America...
