I'm seriuos about this! It's time to show the Chicken D's that Flight's Not Right!!!
Please Note: I've included Royce West even though he stayed behind in Austin. Also, I didn't check to see if the owners of some of the suggested items to boycott are Republicans. This will need to be done.
Let me hear from you!!

Boycott the Texas Senate?
That won't do any good--they are in Santa Fe and that's in New Mexico.
LOL

This doesn't sound like the best way to handle it. Convince the people there to vote them out instead.

This has to be a joke. According to your wishes, I would have to boycott my own hometown. Could not fly anywhere because all of the planes that fly from here go to Houston Hobby or DFW. Mexican Food? Don't go there. Sorry, but most people in San Antonio probably think that Van de Putte is a nutcase so my weekend getaway in a few weeks is a go.

I live in a "Chicken D" district. My rep is a home town guy whose parents were popular here. I didn't vote for him and I have contacted his office to condemn what he is doing, but I am totally opposed to any boycott of products from our district to get back at him. Our economy here is hurting. There's got to be a better way!

Re District 27 , it's Eddie Lucio, Jr, not Van de Putte. Sorry.

Royce West went to Albuquerque. It was Kent Armbrister who stayed.

Better yet, Boycott Taxes.

I don't think that Armbrister or Madla left with the other Democrats. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Senator Eddie Lucio, Jr. is District 27 senator not Leticia.
District 27 - Leticia R. Van de Putte, Westlaco & Brownsville (Cameron, Kenedy, Kleberg, Willacy, and parts of Hidalgo Counties).

Armbrister stayed behind and did not join his Democrat colleagues in New Mexico. He's the only democrat in the Texas senate that isn't a coward, so we shouldn't penalize him for something his colleagues did.

I'm from Washington. Our Chicken D of a governor, Gary Locke, announced that he's not running for re-election in 2004 not after he screwed the taxpayers royally (with help from the House Chicken D majority and the Senate Republican majority) earlier this year. Wish you the best of luck in the boycott however.

Hey, how about pictures to go with those names ?? Photos taken from the Texas Senators of the 78th Legislature website.
The 11 Obstructors:

Eliot Shapleigh, El Paso/Leticia Van de Putte, San Antonio/Royce West, Dallas
John Whitmire, Houston/Judith Zaffirini, Laredo
The Lone Democrat that is staying:
Kenneth Armbrister, Victoria

Once a Democratic stronghold, Texas is now very Republican, and the democrats are trying to hang onto what they have left. Knowing that they will easily loose the vote, they have decided to flee. Redistricting happens. Democrats in Texas are now strictly limited to the University of Austin and its socialist brainwashing machine, and then parts of the big cities. However, how is a boycott going to effect anything? It would more likely hurt a largely Republican (and conservative Republicans at that) state.
What should be done instead is to brand the fleeing Democrats as undemocratic and childish, instead of calling them brave rebels. Granted its tough in the still strongly liberal media, but a boycott is far fetched. How do you successfully boycott a congressional district?
