I live in a "Chicken D" district. My rep is a home town guy whose parents were popular here. I didn't vote for him and I have contacted his office to condemn what he is doing, but I am totally opposed to any boycott of products from our district to get back at him. Our economy here is hurting. There's got to be a better way!

There is, campaign against him. While he is out of town, join the chorus of voices condemning this act of cowardice. If you're lucky you might get on the news.
