Graham Calls for Bush Impeachment
Talon News ^ | July 29, 2003 | Jeff Gannon

WASHINGTON (Talon News) -- Presidential candidate Sen. Bob Graham (D-FL) has charged that President George W. Bush misled Americans in repeating intelligence he knew to be suspect as well as withholding other important information.

Graham said on Fox News Sunday, "Clearly, if the standard is now what the House of Representatives did in the impeachment of Bill Clinton, the actions of this president [are] much more serious in terms of dereliction of duty."

When asked to explain how the "16 words" deceived a Congress that had previously voted to authorize the President to go to war, Graham said, "Well, there's a difference between authorizing and actually going to war."

Graham continued, "In my opinion, the decision to authorize was a bad decision because it took our focus off our number-one enemy, al Qaeda, and refocused us on Iraq, and has therefore allowed al Qaeda to regenerate."

The Florida Senator claimed, "It was also the failure of this president to tell the American people what the consequences of victory in Iraq would be. That we'd be there for a long time, that we would have significant casualties and a very substantial expense."

Graham also argued that the reference in the State of the Union address to what the British government said it had learned about Saddam Hussein's efforts to acquire nuclear materials in Africa was central to the case against Iraq. In mentioning the uranium, Graham concludes, Bush misled Americans into thinking that Saddam Hussein was an eminent threat.

Graham conceded that impeachment was unlikely because "Tom DeLay and the other leadership of the House of Representatives are not going to impeach George W. Bush."

He ended the interview by saying, "The good news is that in November of 2004, the American people will have a chance to both impeach and remove George W. Bush in one step."

Indeed, Graham is a nut. But we knew that when we heard about his years upon years of writing daily diaries and their anal retentive content.

Worse, have you read his journal exerpts? This man has the mind of a rat in a maze, forever looking for the cheese behind walls of minutiae that are so vapid and umimportant that the other rats would die of boredom, or malfeasance before he got to the important things.

He is completely unable to think globally or to think beyond 16 words that in the total import of the SOTU address convinced everyone else that the war was just and necessary.

Senator Graham was asked by letter and telephone:

What is an impeachable misdemeanor?

He has yet to be able to answer this question. There is a point to that question and a valid one. If he can't answer it then he has no business continuing as Senator much less attempting to be President!

SENATOR GRAHAM, THE CONSTITUTION MATTERS!

The more this IDIOT moves to the far left, the less likely he will be a viable canditate in 2004. All the dims are moving to the left with him, and this will be nothing but good for Republicans in '04.

Sorry Dean, you are off base on this one.

"It was also the failure of this president to tell the American people what the consequences of victory in Iraq would be. That we'd be there for a long time, that we would have significant casualties and a very substantial expense."

He's lying. The "consequences" of victory were part of the arguments against going. The monetary expense, the physical dangers, and the geopolitical ramifications were not only addressed, but were a huge part of the debate. As for the significant casualties, most estimates were in the 3,000 to 10,000 range. By any measure, our troops have exceeded the expectations in that regard.

Well, if he were Barney Franks, it would be running a gay bordello in your basement.

But, as we all know, some of us are more equal than others.

Time for Graham to go. Too bad he's not governor of California, then we could just recall him, er, "Total Recall" him. ;)

"who would undermine Americans and America for politics over principal"

True. It's SOP for the Democrats these days, they gave up principle in support of the Clintons, and have shown no indication of regaining it since.

The article makes a good point, Graham is the first "mainstream" Democrat to publicly stand with the socialists and communists who have already demanded Bush's impeachment. Sometimes you can judge a man's character by the company he keeps.

Not sure, but it was definitely after he said "deceit" is a "five-letter word."
