More than 20 thousand people live in Rosengard (Suburb of Malmoe - Swedens third largest city). They are very diverse, but many of them share a common affliction: They live outside their society despite living in its midst.

Lars Aberg reports from this abandoned territory. This is the first in a series of three articles.

The first a visitor to Rosengard meets is security personnel guardian a school. Is this a different world, where construction workers have to protected from the school children, or is it a collapse in the civil society?

When there is a fire at the local mosque, the police have to protect the firemen from groups of grown up attackers. Is this a different planet?...

This communal impulse for self destruction - which among other things also is characterised by stone throwing against local buses and threats against milk distributors as well as garbage collectors - illustrates huge dividing gap which cannot be explained away with charges of discrimination and exclusion....

do these nations deport some of these people? I have read articles about the same problems in france and in some areas the local french white girls cannot go outside unless they wear a burqua or they risk being raped and murdered

They are SO AFRAID of being called racist or intolerant that nobody is, on the surface at least, concerned about the collapse of Denmark.

That sounds familiar. Despite the millions of illegal aliens in the US few speak up for fear of being labeled. The West has a death wish apparently.

Well Denmark has tried to make some initial adjustments to their immigration policy, but off course they are being attacked by Amnesty, human rights watch, the UN, and the EU. Not to mention by the Swedish Social democrats...

It almost started a serious diplomatic row last year between the two countries.

"A Muslim group in Denmark announced a few days ago that a $30,000 bounty would be paid for the murder of several prominent Danish Jews, a threat that garnered wide international notice. Less well known is that this is just one problem associated with Denmark's approximately 200,000 Muslim immigrants. The key issue is that many of them show little desire to fit into their adopted country.

For years, Danes lauded multiculturalism and insisted they had no problem with the Muslim customs - until one day they found that they did. Some major issues:

* Living on the dole: Third-world immigrants - most of them Muslims from countries such as Turkey, Somalia, Pakistan, Lebanon and Iraq - constitute 5 percent of the population but consume upwards of 40 percent of the welfare spending.

* Engaging in crime: Muslims are only 4 percent of Denmark's 5.4 million people but make up a majority of the country's convicted rapists, an especially combustible issue given that practically all the female victims are non-Muslim. Similar, if lesser, disproportions are found in other crimes.

* Self-imposed isolation: Over time, as Muslim immigrants increase in numbers, they wish less to mix with the indigenous population. A recent survey finds that only 5 percent of young Muslim immigrants would readily marry a Dane.

* Importing unacceptable customs: Forced marriages - promising a newborn daughter in Denmark to a male cousin in the home country, then compelling her to marry him, sometimes on pain of death - are one problem.

Another is threats to kill Muslims who convert out of Islam. One Kurdish convert to Christianity, who went public to explain why she had changed religion, felt the need to hide her face and conceal her identity, fearing for her life.

* Fomenting anti-Semitism: Muslim violence threatens Denmark's approximately 6,000 Jews, who increasingly depend on police protection. Jewish parents were told by one school principal that she could not guarantee their children's safety and were advised to attend another institution. Anti-Israel marches have turned into anti-Jewish riots. One organization, Hizb-ut-Tahrir, openly calls on Muslims to "kill all Jews . . . wherever you find them."

* Seeking Islamic law: Muslim leaders openly declare their goal of introducing Islamic law once Denmark's Muslim population grows large enough - a not-that-remote prospect. If present trends persist, one sociologist estimates, every third inhabitant of Denmark in 40 years will be Muslim.

Other Europeans (such as the late Pim Fortuyn in Holland) have also grown alarmed about these issues, but Danes were the first to make them the basis for a change in government."





In my opinion, the combination of excessive welfare states and unlimited immigfration is a recipe for disaster.

And Holland and Belgium. There are some areas of Rotterdam and Antwerp that are "no go" areas for Dutch, Flemish, or Walloons (i.e., Europeans) because any such entering these areas are "asking" (if you'll pardon the expression) to be physically set on and harmed.

If Europe doesn't address the onslaught of Islam they are going to find themselves all put to the sword in another twenty years or so.

Yes I did read recently that France had begun deporting criminal Muslim aliens finally. If they've recognized there's a problem, things must be getting bad.

And in Holland, Dutch girls have been singled out for rape as well. But policies have been getting revised there too, so maybe there's hope yet.

Having regularly visited Malmo every year to see my grandparents, I believe that the article (or the section you translated) is an understatement.
As far as I can tell, the only new school in all of Skane is Muslim.
I'm afraid every time that I am there. I'm not sure why I would be attacked, for being America or Jewish?
You Scandinavians better start having large families, or all is lost.

That's about as frightening as it gets. And yes I agree, if and when Muslims become a majority in any European country, it will be their way or the highway, freedom is not a word in their dictionary.

I believe that most Canadians (and U.S.ers) are not aware of what is going on in Europe. I didn't know until I read the articles posted here.

Too bad we can't get these published in our papers, people need to know what is happening.

For the non-Europeans and the uninitiated reading these links: liberal in these cases is what is referred to in the States as "classical liberal", i.e. free-market.

There is some movement in Norway as well, but I can't remember the names of the players or the organizations there...
