Saddam is STILL Dead!

The death of Saddam's sons raises the question -- where is Saddam? Here's my supposition -- I think Saddam is dead.

We've already had the evidence-by-absence during the fighting, i.e., total lack of central control after the decapitation strike, not a single piece of signal intelligence capturing his voice or other evidence of his existence, the reports from the ground at the decapitation strike of frantic digging activity.

Now we have the death of his sons --what does it tell us?

Think about it -- there were no media reports in the post-war period from Arab TV or released tapes proclaiming that Saddam's sons were alive and on the run. And yet we now know they were alive, probably directing -- at least paying for -- the assassin attacks on US forces.

Yet the same arab sources release audiotapes claiming Saddam IS alive, but curiously the audiotapes can never provide evidence in a form that would provide real proof, i.e., a videotape with visual proof embedded, i.e., a current version of the NY Times for example. This is also true of Bin Laden, BTW.

So the arab sources have done the following: they hid the existence of the living sons, and extolled the existence of the (dead) Saddam, all for the purposes of misdirection and in an attempt to maintain the intimidation effect of Saddam's looming threatening existence on the Iraqis.

The US press, who could easily figure this out if they were so inclined, is sympathetic to the arabs so they will NOT connect the dots.

The repubs won't speculate as I do here, because the downside is that they MIGHT be wrong, and politically it isn't worth the risk of being wrong.

So common sense and elementary deduction is put by the wayside.

Wow! You figured this all on your own by reading filtered press reports and no hard intelligence or classified briefings? Cool...

I hope he's not dead and we get him soon so we can parade his morgue shots to the Iraqis and around the globe just as the admin did with his sons. I want to see him laying on a gurney.

Think about it -- there were no media reports in the post-war period from Arab TV or released tapes proclaiming that Saddam's sons were alive and on the run. And yet we now know they were alive, probably directing -- at least paying for -- the assassin attacks on US forces.

The same British Intel that saw the "frantic digging" and SH carried on a stretcher into an ambulance at site of the decapitation strike did not report any sight of SH's sons during the recovery efforts. Either they were not at the site of the strike or they escaped via an alternate route. Phone intercepts picked up a call to Russia asked for a neuro-surgeon to treat "a top Iraqi official injured in the strike". John Loftus (WABC) said that top official was SH.

John Loftus claims that the second strike on the restaurant was a sting operation set up by Russian advisors sympathetic to SH who wanted to show the surviving Iraqi leadership that their phone lines were compromised. So a phone call was made featuring a recording one of the sons signaling a meeting at this restaurant. A double of SH was picked up entering the restaurant. The call was tapped as the Russian advisors said it would be and the strike came as predicted. But by then, everyone had gotten out of the restaurant and were waiting to see what would happen. After that, the two sons must have realized they had no means of secure communication and went into hiding. That was about the time Baghdad disappeared as well.

It will be fascinating to read someone in the know's account of these events somewhere in the future and see and see how well they match up with Loftus's and others' versions.

Well, you and I will pick up this conversation when the truth ultimately comes out, and we'll see who's right.

Do you simply accept the left media's assertion that Saddam is alive? (The same media that is invested in proving that BWB and the war were wrong). Meaning -- are you convinced by media allusions (but never not Bush admin) to "unnamed CIA sources" that they 'believe' that the taped vioces are Saddam's?

If you do believe THAT, please tell me why? On what basis? On what evidence?

I think Loftus will be proven correct -- no facts have appeared to contradict his analysis.

I do't think so -- look carefully at the article you posted -- it's just more media crap and misdirection.

According to intelligence sources cited by the London Sunday Times, a single satellite signal from a phone known to belong to Saddam was picked up during the bombardment of the building where the Hussein sons were hiding out.

A second-hand attribution? And the sons could not have had Saddam's cell phone, explaining the facts more easily? What part about Occam's Razor has the media never learned?

Geeee...maybe that we don't have a body, body parts or anyone willing to testify that he's dead.....That might be a good start....

The current Theater Commander General Abazid believes he's alive and has publically stated so thus has Task Force 20 assigned to his capture.....

General Tommy Franks publically stated the other day we were sixty days away from Saddam's capture...

There are many other numerous "on the record" assertions that Saddam is alive by both current and past adminstration officials.....
