I am pleased to report that only three Women in Black showed up this morning at 9:00 AM to disgrace the streets of Richmond. They did remember to bring their black banner this week, however, which helped distinguish them from trees and telephone poles. As usual, they walked in silence and quickly crossed the street. I stayed an hour and then packed up the signs, said Hi to Habib's helper and headed across the River.

One of the reasons I continue to show up on Saturdays is the WIB'S propaganda. I find it insulting to our men and women in the military and to veterans.

Quoting from a screed they gave me titled "Support the Peace AND Support the Troops" by Rania Masri, Southern Peace Research and Education Center: BEGIN QUOTE "I support our troops by raising questions. Why is it that troops are disproportionately low-income and people of color? Why is it that too many men and women find themselves forced to join the Army so that they can get a job or get an education or because they feel they have no other alternative?... Timothy McVeigh was a Gulf War Vet, whose job was to bury Iraqis alive. He wrote to his aunt that at first it hurt, but then he got numb to the pain. With that numbness, it was easier for him to commit the massacre at the Oklahoma Federal Building. When asked about the children who died, McVeigh said: 'collateral damage.' Who taught him that term? Who damaged his soul? The DC sniper was also a Gulf War Vet. And we know that domestic violence is higher in military families than it is in civilian families." END OF QUOTE

I know a few young Marines out here in Powhatan who weren't forced into the military by anything other than seeing their home land underfire on September 11, 2001 and they responded in the way real men have always done. They are serving to protect their families, their homes and their country and I am so very proud of them and all of our people in the Armed Forces of the United States of America.

My comment assumes that this is not one of the may important historical "facts" that the appeaseniks make up one a regular basis. Almost anyone who read this would conclude that McVeigh was already a few tacos short of a combo platter during the Gulf War. It is perfectly credible to these folks that a U.S. soldier was tasked to bury Iraqis alive all day, but it's not credible that the Palestians want to drive the Jews into the sea. Morons! Keep smackin' them around, Flora, though there might not be any out there next week at this rate!
