SACRAMENTO (AP) - Backers of the drive to oust Gov. Gray Davis had a boisterous celebration at state Capitol on Saturday, as four potential candidates sought to tie up their support in advance of the Oct. 7 recall election.
The rally capped a week when the Republican-led petition drive qualified for the ballot, making Davis, a Democrat, only the second governor in the nation ever to face a recall ballot.

"People in the crowd of around 1,000"
Typical lying democrap reporter, there were at least 3500 there most of the time, and I consider that a low estimate, with people coming and going all day. I was at the table with Jim all day and the only thing this "reporter" got right was that it was a boisterous, energized, crowd!

Every attempt will be made by the anti-Recall folks and the leftist media to downplay the successful efforts to date. Screw 'em and their liebral agenda!
Thanks to you and Jim and all who were there today!!!

I'd never met him before but I flew from San Diego this morning with Roger Hedgcock and didn't know it but we were waiting at the curb for the same person (Debby Braidman's husband of the RecallGrayDavis.com committee) to pick us up, what great guy! He has been a champion pushing the Recall daily and holding Recall Rallys since the petition drive started.

It was HOT in more ways than one!!! I must say, McClintock gave the best speech . . . if that's any indication of the best candidate. He was definitely the best. I LOVE AMERICA!!!!!!!! Freedom!!!!!!!!! I was there manning the Second Amendment Sisters table along with the SAS CA Coordinator. Lots of interest. Lots of great people. All kinds. Ain't America grand?

It is what we have come to expect of the media all over California and the nation. A sad partisan display, as usual.

Thanks to you and the SAS!
America needs our help. This Rally is just one example of how important it is to get the word out.
I agree, Tom gave the most "on" speech, Simon overamped a bit, Issa was a bit subdued, and the rest , well, there is room for them but there may not be very many votes. CSpud actually has re-aired it 3 times today so far.
On To October 7th and Victory.

What, no pictures?
That crowd was definitely more than 1,000! With all the radio stations on hand, I finally got to meet some of these people I hear all the time. Plus, I ran into my friend whom I know only because she and I have seen each other at every rally since the Bush rallies back in Nov. 2000.

"I must say, McClintock gave the best speech . . . if that's any indication of the best candidate. He was definitely the best."I enjoyed watching the rally on CSPAN. Of all the candidates, I agree that McClintock looked the best. He appears to have a solid understanding of where he's been, where he is now, and where he intends to take your state in the future. The others, though clearly better than Davis, were not impressive. Perhaps this is where big government meets it's ultimate destiny, the wrath of the governed. Then, hopefully, as California goes, so shall the rest of the nation.

From watching CSpan, it seemed to me that Tom McClintock received the loudest welcome. I was pleased to see/hear that as he is one great person (always a fighter for the taxpayer)and though I wouldn't wish the job of "saving the ship" on anyone, he would definitely get my vote. I hope the Republicans do have a meeting to agree on one candidate for the ballot as they've said they would. It's the only way it will work and make any sense.

From watching CSpan, it seemed to me that Tom McClintock received the loudest welcomeFReepers need to realize-just because the media buries him and keeps him secret, doesn't mean he doesn't have a chance. Everybody in talk radio and FR loves him, why in the world shouldn't we expect in a crowded field that he couldn't get the vote? Read my tagline!

The various GOP candidates need to find a way to sort out who is most popular and unite behind that one, or else this entire effort will be at risk.
