The real "enemy within" are those who get American troops bogged down in futile world policing operations.

You mean such as organizations like the UN and NATO?

I would not refer to the war in Iraq as a "police" action. We made a preemptive strike against a rogue nation. That nation demonstrated that it had possesion of chemical weapons, has used, and likely would again use those weapons possibly against Americans. You can buy the media spin if you choose, but it is just spin.

It may seem like a police action now, but that is hardly the same thing as the United States getting involved in Kosovo, or Liberia or other such places where we have no recognized strategic national interest.

Your comment does not specifically say it, but I infer that you are accusing the current administration of being an "enemy within." I could not disagree more. The enemy within is no longer in office, unless you refer to the current jr Senator from New York.

The isolationist crowd, if successful, will have the same effect on America as the Worker's World Party, and others of the Marxist Ilk. There are those abroad who will us ill, if we sit idly by, we will see on of our cities vaporized in a nuclear cloud. Then what will the Marxist/Pacifists (sic), and isolationists say.

I'm sure you are aware that there are more to come. We might be bogged down in Lebanon or Syria next. We might be bogged down in Iran or N. Korea. There are many dictators/states/terrorist groups who like to kill Americans. Whether it's in the 'Sunni Triangle' in Iraq, the Kobar barracks in Saudi Arabia, or 1 World Trade Center. It doesn't matter to them.

So, the simple and at the same time difficult solution to the problem is to kill them first. And to do that, you have to go there. For an extended period of time. With over whelming force and a kick a$$ attitude to get the job done.

Failure to act decisively, or allowing another 911 to occure, will not be tolerated by the American people.

I don't know about futile.

And I'm uncomfortable in the extreme with the puppet masters probable parts in all these things . . .

But Iraq, Iran, Syria, N Korea et al really do need taken care of rather decisively.
