Linux sucks! It is of Euro-origin.
*BSD, while of Berkeley origin, at least is American-origin!

The continued adoption of Linux by large enterprise in the face of SCO's legal threats is not surprising, said Yankee Group analyst Laura DiDio. "I don't think many of them thought of it as a big threat, I think they viewed it as a mosquito at a picnic -- a sort of gnat buzzing around."
Yup... sums it up nicely.

Very disturbing that our White House is in any way affiliated with the 'official software of the PRC' known as Red Flag Linux. But I know I guess they are now both using a derivative of the same exact freely available source code.

What the heck is this about? I thought the big plus with Linux was that it was a completely free and open system that anyone could use and thus be "free" of the tyranny of Microsoft.
Who is this SCO and what is their deal?
Can someone give me a brief synopis of this beef?

This analyst doesn't know what she's talking about. The SCO -IBM action pertains to AIX, not Linux. IBM indemnifies its customers fully for AIX licenses issued from IBM. Period. She's 100% wrong.

Ive been a windows dev for about 6 years now. Just got a job using a Mac running OSX.2 and Ill be using php/myslq. I never thought Id be saying this - Im moving away and back to the Unix/Linux OS with open source server scripting with the beautiful UI of the Mac. Granted it still has lame functionality but Ill just deal with it. But the way it looks and the cool new stuff is worth it for the change. Im sick of Windows and all there lame marketing campaigns and dominate attitude and high prices for server software and licenses.

While it's certainly interesting that www.whitehouse.gov certainly runs on Apache/Linux. It's telling that a large proportion of money-making, commercial websites, such as www.whitehouse.com, are running on IIS. ;-)
