Gotta LOVE the dedication of middle America...notice the "No Donations" signs...not looking for a hand-out like here in Boston.

"I've been spit at and had some things thrown at me and I've seen the famous finger from time to time..."

Democrat respect for the elderly. They promise to keep her Social Security in a lock box and help her and love her and feel her pain...

As long as she meekly follows their party line, remains a victim and votes Democrat.

We're in SW Michigan, but it's tempting to drive down for the day with my boys to at least shake her hand and thank her.

"I don't care what your politics are," she continues, "you should at least support our troops in Iraq and elsewhere."

The difficulty is that some people's politics consist of dissing their country and those who defend it. Ann Coulter's newest book "Treason" gives examples by the bushel basket full. Many of them are or were nationally prominent members of the Democratic Party elite, or overpaid Hollyweird types, desparate for another minute in the lights.

Wow - amazing this story made the South Bend Tribune. My folks still live in the area and my dad is always grousing about the radical liberal slant to the paper.

She admits that sometimes she is treated like an eyesore. "I've been spit at and had some things thrown at me and I've seen the famous finger from time to time, but mostly the response is positive.

Sometimes it just seem like such a shame that you can't deploy military snipers domestically. Think of what great training it would be, shooting the fingertips off those flippin' the bird at patriotic litte old ladies. Occassionaly we'd get lucky and they'd miss (the figer tip).

Fantastic woman. I wish we had more with her attitude. It has to be hard for her to do this daily with all of her disabilities so even more reason to thank her for her loyalty to our troops and our Country.
