What I find bizarre is that implicit in many people's posts is the belief that all it takes for motive and pattern for a man to rape is to BE A MAN(or to be black, or an athlete, or worse in their minds a black athlete--the horrors!)

I mean, if Bryant were charged with robbery, people would probably laugh out loud. Now, if they have a video of him robbing someone at gunpoint then maybe you don't need to show motive(you can guess, in that case) but for most crimes it makes sense for the prosecution to present a pattern of behavior OR a motive for the crime. For most murder cases, they at least seek out a motive or pattern of violent behavior if they can't find a clear reason.

By the logic of some, Bryant being an athlete and famous is the motive for his rape. Essentially, a man accused of rape has just provided the sole basis for their belief that he is susceptible to violent fits of sexual assault.

A bizarre view, mostly held by NOW-nags, but apparently gaining traction.

Some of us are just disgusted that a potential rape victim is being dragged through the mud. Imagine if your sister was raped and you kept hearing in the media that she was a slut, a nut, or a liar. I don't doubt for a second that some of this garbage is being encouraged by Kobe supporters and perhaps his legal team.
