Some of us are just disgusted that a potential rape victim is being dragged through the mud. Imagine if your sister was raped and you kept hearing in the media that she was a slut, a nut, or a liar. I don't doubt for a second that some of this garbage is being encouraged by Kobe supporters and perhaps his legal team.

What if this entire case was sealed and it was punishable by law to divulge information relevant to it, even if you weren't one of the parties to the proceedings? Then, even if Bryant is acquitted, many would never know why or how the evidence exonerated him. It'd be left for people to just make assumptions.

You say she's being dragged through the mud, I see some facts and some rumor and some hearsay. Well, that's going to happen. You think people can't come forward with BRyant? Will you call it being dragged through the mud?

Should her friends shut up? yeah. But you assume Bryant is at the heart of it. But see, you've ASSUMED his guilt because if you didn't, you wouldn't make reference to his lawyers or his money or fame. But you already assume guilt so you view everything through that lens.

But maybe you think information that may or may not exonerate the accused or confirm the accuser's claims should not be reported? Hey, he's famous and this is going to be a big case. I don't think the name-calling is appropriate, but talking about possibilities or FACTS is not mud-slinging.

That's the point. It works both ways. Imagine if your brother was falsely accused of rape, and their names dragged throught the media.

I've know people who have been raped and falsely accused of it but I have no idea as to what happened in that hotel room. I am presuming Bryant's innocence.
