A PICTURE WORTH A 1000 WORDS
When you read the online edition of the Sacramento Bee, you won't likely find a photo of Freepers (Free Republic members) on the front page. That might acknowledge the vital role that such grassroots organizations have played in restoring the State of California back into the hands of The People!
There will be a lot of discussion threads on the early success of the Recall Davis movement. Lets not forget it's genesis while the professional hit men and women cast the stones labeling the movement in the most vitriol terms they can muster. It's time to take off the gloves my friends, it's also time to bury the hatchets we've planted in the backs of our own. We have a history of self destruction and infighting... lay down your arms and for one day, engage in unity and common ground. DON'T FORGET YOUR ALLIES and those on the front lines. Don't let the glitter of gold take away from the virtue of values.
Let's turn this Saturday's Recall Rally into a Declaration of Independence!
To Impeach and so many others with whom we marched, protested and supported in years past... my humble THANKS... one battle is won... there's a bigger and bloodier one is ahead. TAKE NO PRISONERS!
PDN and CRIMEWATCH volunteers welcome our FReeper friends and sometimes foes alike. Just look for the red, white and blue shade canopies amongst the mix. If you need a place to check in or meet, we have space.
You can e-mail PDN's webmaster for our cell phone number and we encourage as many of you as possible to get there by 8:30 a.m. to help rally organizers make this a day to make the history books. If you need a little encouragement, just remember the days gone by that made this day possible:
Play the Media File that started it all!
E-Mail PDN Webmaster with your suggestions or to volunteer.
Recall Davis Rally on Sat. July 26 *ATTN CALIFORNIA FREEPERS*
Recall Gray Davis Committee ^ | 07/11/2003 | The Honorable Howard Kaloogian
You know, for too long now we have lived with government run by elites (of all stripes). This recall initiative has given me the hope that perhaps by the example set herein, one day our government may return to that of a government "of the people".
Pure democracy- h*ll no!. But rather, officers from each state looking over their shoulders and wondering "Is this action I'm about to take in the best interest of the governed (vs. those who financed my campaign)? "Could I be scr*wing the pooch by ignoring our state's, as well as, the nation's constitution in my desire to satisfy a contributor's needs by acting outside the oath I took?"
Power to the people in a republican sense can only come from actions such as this recall when it is damned difficult to hold some official's feet to a fire, when no fire exists.
To California's credit, if we succeed in this recall we may, according to many who follow trends, once again reclaim our rightful place in starting fads that eventually gain acceptance across the nation.
"Matches, please."
