Florida Council of Churches Attacks Bush

Starting tomorrow, it appears this supposedly neutral religious organization is going to begin running ads in the Orlando Sentinel. They are going to outright accuse GW Bush of misleading the people of America into war. While I can appreciate the opinions of religious groups who are true pacifist, this is an entirely different path taken by God-fearing humanitarians. Thou shall not bare false witness is exactly what this group is attempting to do as they discredit this president and the war.

According to my local talk radio news-break, this will be one of many ads that will start appearing around the nation in select newspapers tomorrow. I don't know if it is collaboration with a larger church organization or if this is in anyway related to the DNC. If anyone has anymore info on this group (Florida Council of Churches), I'd appreciate it. By the way, this is my first post, so please excuse any mis-formatting.

Bump!

And I would be further interested in learning if this Council believes in "equal opportunity". Meaning, do they go after liberal personages with equal vigor?

Thanks for posting. (Don't be a stranger ;-)
I refuse to take seriously the taunts and challenges of groups who thought Saddam didn't need to be toppled in the first place, and ever since our military victory, have been trying to justify their wrong-headedness by spinning lies and undermining our efforts to bring true peace and freedom to Iraq.

You mean "equal targets of opportunity." I think that's a legitimate question.

Could doing something like this cause them to lose any tax-exempt status they may have? Hope so.

I've been waiting on that to happen to the NAACP and Jackson's outfits for years. I think the fear of being labeled "racsists" has scared the administration from doing what needs to be done.

I guess separation of church and state only runs 1 way: liberals!

My2cents,
I should've rephrased my comment. I've actually been on the site for some time now...it's my first "posted" article. By the way, I just heard the ad on the radio...again. They've been broadcasting it at every half-hour break. The ad will label Bush as a "Mis-Leader."

Ah, the CoC. The enemy. A bunch of socialists in ministerial clothing, who's purpose is to brainwash their uh...not my term...flocks.
Good first post. The CoC is worldwide and supports dictators like Saddam and Castro. Real big on appeasment and collectiivism. Also the reason I bowed out of organized religion in cold fury. The CoC should disgust all of us.

The fact these ads are running in Florida, I suspect they're being funded by the DNC, don't you think?

I would think there could be some definite collaboration. Florida is a state the Dems need...and they still see Florida (and Jeb) as the source for their defeat. They pulled out all stops in 2002, and now its seems like it is going to be more of the same for 2004. I just loved it when Jeb won in a landslide...and McAwful even hurt McCalls campaign in NY by taking away his money to try and beat Jeb. Yeah...they really care about the poor blackman. They never learn.
