New York Times (Muslims respect enemy dead)

"The photos, graphically depicting the bodies of two men, appeared likely to inflame the sensibilities of some Iraqis, even those with mixed feelings about the men. The graphic display of the corpses, along with the evidence that they had not been buried immediately after their deaths, runs against a custom held across the Muslim world, where the dead, even enemy dead, are accorded great respect. How fortunate. I *want* their sensibilities inflamed. It's about damned time, too. I noticed that nobody seems to be concerned about my sensibilities.

"runs against a custom held across the Muslim world, where the dead, even enemy dead, are accorded great respect. "
What a lie.
"Israelis were stunned Friday by images in their newspapers of a young Palestinian with blood-smeared hands raised in triumph, signally to a cheering mob that the deed was done. They also learned that the bodies were so badly mutilated that the soldiers had be identified by dental records and fingerprints."
http://www.cnn.com/2000/WORLD/meast/10/13/sraeli.reax.ap/ You can not imagine how Israeli dead have been mutilated by the Arabs. One particular favorite is to cut off the genitals and stuff them in the corpse's mouth.
If you think badly of the Islamics now, read some honest history and you won't believe how evil they are.
But those who lie for them, whether the NYT or those who claim that Islam is a peaceful religion, are even worse.

The NYT needs to move it's HQ to Iran, where they can be closer to their muslime terrorists-brothers or perhaps Cuba would be better, that way they could keep an eye out on the "poor souls" of gitmo.
NYT: PLEASE GO AWAY!

Yeah, and then there's that photo of the hanging palestinian that was eviscerated. Respectfully, of course.

Right, accorded great respect. More nyt total effing lying bs.

What are we dealing with? We have the bodies of two men who willingly and cheerfully did their part in the Hussein regime that shot women and children in the head and dumped their bodies in unmarked, mass pits. And the
Times publishes this drivil about how "Moslems respect bodies..."?
I no longer think that the reporters and editors of the Times are political bigots and hard-lefties. I think they are "barking mad" to quote their own columnist, Maureen Dowd. Or if that is more polite than they deserve, they are absolutely f*cking insane.
Did I miss anything?

Oh, really? Tell it to the dead whose bodies were desecrated in Somalia. Of course, it would be way too politically incorrect for the enlightened spirits at the
Times to refer to them accurately as savages. But a little closer to Iraq, does anyone remember Desert One, in 1980?
If the tragic fate the rescuers met in the desert was not bad enough, some 7,000 miles away in Tehran something indecent and inhumane was happening to the charred corpses of the rescuers who were killed.
The international press broadcast to the world the disturbing pictures of Iranian authorities ripping open the body bags containing the remains of the Delta Force commandos.
Ayatollah Sadegh Khalkhali, formerly Tehran's chief Islamic judge held up a portion of charred arm and shouted for the world to hear, " This is proof of Carter's crime ." and sarcastically added, "My heart aches for the families of these victims."
No lie too great as long as it makes the U.S. look bad - the NY Times is simply beyond disgusting.
To: Southack
You'd think that the poor liberals at the NY Times would at least be educated enough to know those facts... Or honest enough to present them.
But then they wouldn't be liberals.

I meant to suggest that it was their desecrators, and not the dead, who were the "savages" in Somalia.
To: Alouette
They don't respect Muslims dead either.

Everything in this completely laughable NYT article is precisely 180 degrees out of phase with the truth in that region. It doesn't pass The Guffaw Test.

"The photos, graphically depicting the bodies of two men, appeared likely to inflame the sensibilities of some Iraqis, even those with mixed feelings about the men. Yep, lets hear directly from one of thiose sensitive fellows about the burial
"Death is not enough. They should have been hung up on poles in a square in Baghdad so all Iraqis could see them. Then they should have died as people ate them alive," said businessman Khalil Ali. "The photographs do not mean anything."

This is a joke, right? I guess the heads on stakes and women shown hanged in a position that indicated they had been raped is showing respect. I guess the filming of a decapitation is showing respect. The NYT gets sillier all the time. The print anything, anything at all that attacks the Bush administration. This is just too far over the top to be ignored, though. I guess I will have to send this one to Best of the Web.

A MAJOR CROWD needs to gather before the NYT and PROTEST their anti-american propoganda.
Of course, anyone who would notice what the NYT is, are hard-working folk. Only the un-employed have time to protest. Still, a major holiday might be a good time. Or are there any pro-american New Yorkers at all?
