New York Times (Muslims respect enemy dead)
New York Times ^ | 7/24/03

"The photos, graphically depicting the bodies of two men, appeared likely to inflame the sensibilities of some Iraqis, even those with mixed feelings about the men. The graphic display of the corpses, along with the evidence that they had not been buried immediately after their deaths, runs against a custom held across the Muslim world, where the dead, even enemy dead, are accorded great respect. "

Check out this quote for the NY Times article on the release of the Uday/Qusay photos. Yeah, Muslims really respect the enemy dead and bury them immediately, like the guys from the 507th whose dead bodies were displayed and held up to ridicule on videotapes given to al Jazeera, and like the 2 soldiers who were kidnapped and their bodies dumped by the side of the road. Gimme a break.

Oh, really? Then how come Reuters is saying this?

Iraqis Demand to See Bodies of Saddam's Sons

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqis said on Thursday they were not convinced by photographs of the bodies of Saddam Hussein's sons and demanded the corpses should be dragged through the streets as proof the feared brothers were dead.

The grisly pictures were broadcast on Iraqi television and international satellite channels, but many Iraqis could not see them because of power cuts plaguing the country. It didn't seem to matter because Iraqis said photographs alone were not enough to prove Uday and Qusay were dead.

"Death is not enough. They should have been hung up on poles in a square in Baghdad so all Iraqis could see them. Then they should have died as people ate them alive," said businessman Khalil Ali. "The photographs do not mean anything."

Could it be that the NY Times is not being completely truthful with us? Why on EARTH would we ever think that?

The Lyin' Times is at it again!

John Gambling had an Iraqi woman on today, saying they should parade them through the streets, so the masses could REALLY be sure they were dead.

You know you can't win with these people. If we did not show the pictures, they would say we were lying about killing them. When we show the pictures, it is disrespectful.

The NYT is playing a "Can You Top This?" game with itself. It comes up with one whopper after another. They have no shame and obviously no longer care about their credibility.

Kind of like dead Palestinens whose bodies they parade around days after their death. Except in those cases where the dead body being paraded is actually a person who is alive and well and just playing dead. Which does happen. A news camera caught one of these "dead" people falling off the board they were being carried on, then upon hitting the ground the "Dead" person got up and put themselves back on the board!

I guess the highest form of respect and honor in the Muslim world is to be tortured, executed and buried in a mass grave using a bulldozer.

What a load!

Unbeleivable.

NEWSFLASH: The al-qaeda Somalis who shot down our Blackhawk helicopter in Africa were each and every one Muslim.

And they filmed themselves dragging our dead pilots through the streets of Mogadishu.

You'd think that the poor liberals at the NY Times would at least be educated enough to know those facts...
