Gray Davis Recall supporters rally in Sacramento this morning

Recall supporters were out on the sidewalks across the street from Secretary of State Kevin Shelley's office at 5 a.m. today. Counties must turn in their recall signatures by today's deadline.

About two dozen demonstrators gathered on the day that counties are expected to report enough signatures to trigger an unprecedented recall election against Gov. Gray Davis.

A banner strung between street sign and a parking meter expressed the feelings of many who showed up. The sign said ``Kevin Shelley, do your job or else.''

Gas money to drive from 50 miles outside of Sacremento: $5.00
Printing services for political banner reminding the target that they too could face political execution: $100.00
Seeing liberal communists forced to do the will of the electorate: Priceless

Some things liberalism can't kill. For everything else, there's Free Republic.

(AP) - Unaware that a live microphone was broadcasting their words around the Capitol, Assembly Democrats meeting behind closed doors debated prolonging California's budget crisis for political gain. Members of the coalition of liberal Democrats talked about slowing progress on the budget as a means of increasing pressure on Republicans. A microphone had been left on during the closed meeting Monday, and the conversation was transmitted to about 500 "squawk boxes" that enable staff members, lobbyists and reporters to listen in on legislative meetings. Who were the guys trying to jab their signs in Baghdad Bob's ears tonight? I don;t know if you saw a clip on the 9 or 10pm news where 2 or 3 folks with signs in a crowd of many were all over pooor Bob Mulholland. He actually looked whupped for a change. ;-) I love it!
