Simon- Sec. of State has validated 900k+ Signatures, Recall a go (Dump Davis)
Hugh Hewitt Show ^ | 7/22/3

Posted on 07/22/2003 5:13:13 PM PDT by socal_parrot

Bill Simon just announced on the Hugh Hewitt show that the Secretary of State's office have contacted his people and told them that over 900,000 signatures have been validated. This would mean that if the Sec. of State announces the certification tomorrow, Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante would have 15 days to announce the special election which would be held 60-80 days after that. Candidates could have as little a 24 hours to get their paperwork in once the election date is set.

Here we go.

Another airhead, who was disingenous about his fondness for Hezbollah, and fluffed up his resume with stuff that was close to false, and ran a very, very dirty campaign to win his congressional seat. I know, I received his false and misleading hit mailers, spewing lies about his primary opponents. I lived in his CD. The guy is basically another guy bored with life, that is using his fortune to gain power, without much intellectual capital, and less character.

I admit it. I perhaps over-emphasize the factor of whether I think someone is bascially honest, or basically one that will lie, cheat and do anything else he thinks he can get away with, to further his career.

By the way, have you heard Issa on the radio talk shows? Simply awful. He simply lacks any grasp of the details, and has trouble really putting together a few sentences that have much traction.

You just have a different spin converter ratio setting then I , it would appear. Simon was far from perfect, but it didn't prevent me from seeing enough in him to vote for him.

You have your right to your assessment as others have theirs. It would be nice to put the 2002 election behind us but... Look here.. We may be going down the same path again... and very soon, ironic, huh?

MY question is, Who will be fielding the more aggressive attack dogs this time around?

I voted for him too. I'm not Torie, going off and voting for Gray Davis.

It's just now I have a chance to vote for someone different.

And yet you voted for Davis who may be the world champion at dirty campaigning!!

Yup, and if the demRats are true to their word, there'll be another Recall election next summer.

Oh , and thanks for posting the Simon hit piece thread. It should be interesting to see what it draws out of the attack dog kennels. ;-)

I just got that email.

Stuff like that, PartyWatch, ParskyWatch, and so forth are fun because they're things that people who can mass mail most of the CAGOP's email list start sending out.

Inside glimpse and all.

We need new leadership, not those who let us down in 2002!

That would have been the voters, wouldn't it?

Doofus also, for the first time, said "in this election," talking about the recall. He finally got it through his thick skull that it's happening.

Davis is dirty about raising money. His campaigns per se, are par for the course, not enobeling, but not distinctively dirty. Look, it is not a rose garden out there, in the California public square. It is more about being offered up one depressing choice after another. Get used to it.

I voted for Davis

Why are posting on this site? DU is more your speed. How on earth could anyone who claims to be conservative have voted for that degenerate remf, and then brag about it?

I owe it to this forum to make full disclose, and state my opinions honestly. If I were a DU clone, I don't think I would have lasted as long as I have. On some issues, I think you would find my views quite congeneal, on others, horrific.

Dude, If you couldn't stomach Simon, at least you could have voted for the Libertarian, whoever the heck that was. Davis was Governor Moonbeam's Chief of Staff, if that didn't give you a clue.

For that matter, I can't stand Issa either. Getting rid of a scumbag owned by the PEUs and replacing him with one owned by Mooselimb terrorists would not be an improvement.

That would be trimming. I don't do third parties, except for very considered strategic reasons, none of which obtained here. I sincerely did not want Simon to be governor, for a variety of reasons, including the long term viability of the GOP in California.

torie is "open minded" and "tolerant" and "pragmatic" with a mind of his/her own. Being "open minded" is important to torie, because the mind, in his/her mind, is much like a parachute... it must be open, to function. Trouble is... the only thing in it then, is AIR!!!

He/she wants our government to be like him... Run by whim! It all depends on the mood he's/she's in... Today!!! The greatest thing about torie is that he/she will argue adamantly the daily position, if he/she is in the mood to argue, otherwise, you'll be dismissed, or maybe even dissed!!!

But if we were all consistent considerate conservatives, this site would become boring. But what I really find boring is youthfull, inexperienced angry people who won't clam up when proven repeatedly to be incorrect!!! torie is not exactly one of these. torie is as least not a whiner.

LOL. As an amateur shrink, you are as competent as most in that category, and have not totally missed the mark, just largely. Keep your day job. Regards.

yes, I can imagine-- the Democratic Suicide pact will probably not hold, but if they only have one or two days to file......

on the other hand, someone will go to court a la new jersey to say that "the people need a choice".....

and just as Lautenberg and mondale got on the ballot, some Dem will get there.
