If so, he/she/they deserve every dollar they will get.Hell yes. As a taxpayer, I'd be more than happy to open my wallet for this expenditure.

If GW announces this, out here, a prize winning bottle of Merlot will be opened and some great steaks will be bought and grilled tonight. We will lift up a couple of glasses of Merlot to toast our president, Rummy and our military!Excellent suggestion, sir! I believe I'll do the same. Here's hoping for similar 'good news' reports and further stimulation of the economy. Cheers.

Four people killed inside the building -- no other casulaties according to Steve C. from Fox! Wonder if they were killed by our bullets, or their own? I have to think that they (or Saddam) left orders for the bodyguards that they should be killed rather than captured.

This could be REALLY good pyswar news.
What the USA has also obstensively said to North Korea:
"Dear Kim Jong-il:
Take Note. Your fraternal allies, of whom one in particular came to see you in Pyongyang and negotiate arms deals as part of your Axis of Evil, are lifeless carcasses thanks to United States Military Forces.
You can expect the same for you and your dynastic sons, Kim Jong-Nam and Kim Yong-Chol.
Your time is limited, get your affairs in order."

"But, then the liberals would cry cruel and unusual punishment. He has not been convicted of anything, only accused. Treat him nice. "
Isn't that only guaranteed for US citizens? They aren't citizens.

Admirers of Klingons know that it would have been an obscene slur to link their noble race to the gaggle of saddamites.Absolutely.
And the cry of "Airborne All the Way!" sounds better in the original Klingon, anyway :o)

Looks like we're now holding three aces, hopefully soon to make it four of a kind, and the Baath regime is stuck with a 7 high.

Exactly. The Dow went from being down 100 to up 40 in an instant. When Saddam goes, it will be good for 300 points. If Osama is still alive (and I think he's Tora Bora flora), his death would be worth 500 points.

Dead is as dead does. Yes -- but "killed by their own bullets" is easy to for us spin into "cowards," whereas Saddam's bitter-enders can turn "killed by American bullets" into "martyrs."

The Death of Saddam's sons. I think that we tried to take them alive. That is why the fire fight took 4 hours. It does not take 4 hours to kill four people in a house. I would speculate that when Saddam's sons finally figured there was no way out they committed suicide. They most likely killed the other two before they killed themselves. There may not have been many more than 4 persons in the house.
I really doubt if the sons had a large number of people with them. Any house that had a large number of people would attract attention. When people are hiding they try not to attract attention.
It would seem likely that any safe house had multiple underground exits that come up in other locations. I bet we blasted them shut. We must have put them in a position of no escape. They likely refused to surrender and killed themselves rather than be taken alive.
We shall see.
