MSNBC: Alleged (Kobe Byrant) Victim seen bragging at a party 3 days later
MSNBC.COM ^ | 7/22/03 | MSNBC

Posted on 07/22/2003 8:20:57 AM PDT by Smogger

I just saw it on MSNBC. They said she was at a party a week ago, 3 days before Kobe was charged.

They said she was drinking (consumption by a minor) and playing cards, and was bragging about.....(MSNBC took out the audio at the end of sentence)

The story was confirmed by 5 people at separate places and times who were at the party and all gave a similar account of what happened.

When asked how the girl looked, the guy interviewed said she looked happy. Everyone was shocked to see her at the party given the incident.

I think someone may have even asked how hung was Kobe upon which she described with hand gestures. She seemed to be bragging according to a friend, but said she couldn't tell them what happened that night.

This just keeps getting better and better...

Why hasn't the National Organization of Nags come to the defense of Kobe, like they did for Bill Clinton? Remember the great liberal axioms....

(1). "Well, everyone does it!"

(2). "It's what he does for a living that counts not how he conducts his personal life."

(3). "Charater doesn't matter".

<(4). "Can't we all just move on?"

I think that if a woman agreed to have vaginal intercourse with a man and that man forced her to have anal intercourse, that is rape. As a juror, I would have no problem convicting on those facts. Consent for some things is not consent for everything

That is a tough call. But in the end, I think I would disagree. It is wrong and degrading but I don't know if I would go as far as saying it is rape. I certainly couldn't see putting someone in jail for it.

"Nonsense...the girl had been told to go up to his room"

Your source for that? So far no one knows exactly why she went to his room.

7 seas, 7 dwarves, 7 continents, 7 brides for 7 brothers...Oh, I feel that I am soooo close.

You are. In fact, you're bordering on the divine.

Didn't Jesus say we had to forgive our errant brothers "Seventy times seven?"

How about some purple and blue text in there too just to make it all look more intelligent? /sarcasm

Although, it's obvious that you weren't really going for an intelligent post.

Well, there it is -- you have won. I freely concede it. I am in awe of your powers of understanding and feel unworthy by comparison.

"What a ridiculous idea."

Sending people to jail for false reporting is an idea whose time has come. We aren't talking about sending the "he said, she said" reporters to jail. We're talking about sending those women who falsely report crimes for profit (like the one in the article, who forced the poor guy to spend thousands of dollars defending himself, after she accused him of raping her in a city which he had never visited.). But I suspect you realize that.

False reporting is a CRIME, and it's hurts peoples' reputations. I think it should be as zealously prosecuted as rape is.

You seem to think that some crimes (rape) are worthy of prosecution, and others (false reporting) are not. The only person who seems to have a ridiculous, nonsensical, and twisted idea of our justice system is YOU, my friend.

"How about making all these smears of the girl hate crimes and sending the posters to jail?"

Free speech and opinon regarding a matter of public concern as a hate crime?

I am witnessing more disdain and outright contempt for everything female, on this post than I ever would have believed could possibly come from alleged to be conservatives. We are talking about a ninteen year old girl here. Small town, country and mountain grown. THe girl next door type, not some worldly wise, street walking tramp.

Kobe is an eleven million dollar a year, billion's of dollars draw guarantee for a pro-basketball franchise. If this precious young lady must be squashed like a bug to protect the profits of the NBA, then they will spend whatever it costs to destroy her. A small sacrifice to the consciounceless world of the big bucks power brokers.

THe defenders of Kobe don't give a damn one way or the other if she was raped or not- We should, if we wish for a world where the weak and poor, have as much right to say no, as do the rich and famous.

So wait, then country girls go to parties after an alleged rape days later? And brag about it?

Or conversely, good old girl types take pills and drink?

You don't know a damn thing except your presumption of guilt of Kobe Bryant.

Thank God you won't be on any jury.

"(like the one in the article, who forced the poor guy to spend thousands of dollars defending himself, after she accused him of raping her in a city which he had never visited.). "

The article I'm referring to here is one that was posted earlier (I've read so many today, I thought this was the one we were talking about here, you guys know how it is) where a prominent newscaster was accused of rape by a woman in Louisville (I think), a town which he had never visited. He spent thousands of dollars on his defense, and the charges were finally dropped. He chose not to press civil charges against the woman (who admitted the whole thing was false) because he didn't want his name associated with a heinous thing such as a rape. Horrible!

Men should not have to go through that while women skate and just move on to the next victim of their false accusations, emboldened by the fact that they weren't prosecuted for their crime.

Well, to some of us, it seems increasingly like the "weak and poor" (who have as much access to personal injury attorneys as anyone) are increasingly preying on the rich and famous, because they think that they can get a quick cash settlement.

You'll forgive our cynicism. Kids are just not that innocent these days.

That is pretty funny. I dont think this girl is your apple-pie baking barefoot cornfed girl-next-door country virgin. It sounds like you hold miss colorado on a pretty high pedestal. Sounds like the girl is fresh off the turnip truck.

If this precious young lady must be squashed like a bug to protect the profits of the NBA, then they will spend whatever it costs to destroy her

Here we go with the vast right-left-wing nba conspiracy. I enjoyed your ode to a country girl sonet... but puhleeeeze. "~My sweet biscuit eater how I adore theee~"
