Hold the phone. At some point it time, it would have been advantageous for the U.S. to report what we know happened on March 19--SH and his sons were killed in that initial strike.

Now seems as opportune a time as any with the anti-Bush, anti-Blair, anti-was rhetoric at such a fevered pitch. A report like this will take the wind right out of the Bush, Blair haters.

This is only one of many aces George Bush has up his sleeve to play at an opportune time. There will be more to come in the future when the rhetoric again heats up.

For this to be announced, they must have been VERY confident in their intell.

The real story is the intell war behind the scenes. The final Army cordon and search and attack is just putting a cherry on top of the sundae.

This will be a victory or another misfire, depending on the intell.

Either way, the troops who had to go in at the end are magnificant, and deserve all our praise.
