I think the evidence is pointing more to BUSH WAS MISLEAD, not BUSH MISLEAD.

And where does the buck stop Race? I don't think he intentionally misled, I still have hope he's a good man. But he made the decision based on evidence of a government organization he was responsible for.

These are just a few, Mr. Speaker. Mr. Speaker, I will make this commitment to my colleagues. If this partisan rhetoric continues on the floor, I will be back here every night and I will refute it, and I will bring out more of the gross Clinton lies and distortions which that side remained silent on year after year after year. I challenge them to end this garbage. Enough is enough, Mr. Speaker.

Bump for another great post, and kudos to Curt Weldon.

Oh, Please, like those 13 words were so important to this war?

Have you been asleep here in the last 2 weeks?

The Dems who scream so loud now all supported this war 4 months before Bush ever uttered those words!

Clinton's lies (you can choose your favorites) and their ramifications distracted him from doing taking Osama when the Sudan offered him, from taking out Saddam before Saddam could hide all his WMDs, etc. The US intelligence capabilities were weakened under Clinton; and he frequently used the military but didn't replenish it as necessary.

Show me where Bush lied!

It started when he promised to reduce the size of government.

Then he said we should pursue a 'humble' foreign policy.

Soon after he became President.

I don't remember anything significant he did prior to 9/11 except blame Clinton, the dead horse, for all of his problems.

After that tragic event lying seems to have become the M.O. for the administration.

All I see is there MAY BE an incorrect statement, but not a lie!

There was the lie that Saddam was tied to Al Queda(sp).

The lie that Iraq was an imminent threat to the USA.

The lie that Iraq had nuclear weapons or would soon, based on forged documents that we knew were false.

The lie about the alumininum tubes being used to create those weapons.

The lies about massive amounts of chemical and biological weapons ready to be used against the USA.

The lies about UAVs ready to attack the USA.

etc.

Now, tell me that slaughtering thousands of people to keep a sex scandal off the tv screen compares to mistating 13 words...

I think a lie by a politician that causes the death of a single person should require that the politician be expected to face the same fate.

Those guys who were sent to Bosnia "for six months" might think so.

BTW how many US troops are still in Bosnia?

reducing government is one Ill give you

Bush never blamed Clinton for anything, especially Chinese espionage, and that is a different thread and purpose than this one.

Documents were releas4ed last week documenting the ties between AlQueda and Iraq, and there were over a dozen camps found inside Iraq, and that is old news.

Iraq is an immenant threat, and has attacked us in 93 at the WTC the first time, in OKC in 95, was behind every attack since then, where have you been??

We have known of the threat of Iraqi Nukes for years, and we only have Israel to thank that they werent finished for the first war!

The aluminum tubes could have been an honest mistake, but a missile tube scares me just as much as some centrifuge tube scares me

10,000 missing liters of Anthrax doesnt worry you? You arent paying attention, then.

UAV's attacking America was also a report released before Bush mentioned it, and we readit here on FR , too. I believe it was the FBI and CIA that released that info, have they called that a forgery, too? I have yet to hear that one!

Thereis a huge difference between telling a whopper to start a war, and relying on intelligence to start a war that the intelligence MIGHT turn out to be false, when we have truck loads of evidence since the war stared that we know we did the right thing anyways...or do yo want to let Saddam back in? Send those kids back to the prison camps?

No, but these were

But let there be no misunderstanding: If Saddam Hussein does not fully disarm, for the safety of our people and for the peace of the world, we will lead a coalition to disarm him.

Bags of beans and an old dugup centrifuge do not make WMDs on the scale he was talking about

Is this a joke? Of course he did! KOSOVO! And let's not forget the Sudan bombing the day Monica testified based on absolutley no intelligense of any weight and opposed firmly and forcefully by the Joint Chiefs and the CIA. Remember his calling back of the bombers on operaton "Desert Fox" only to send them again a few weeks later on the eve of the impeachment vote in the House?

Yeah- Clinton was a liar who was backed to the hilt by the press. But let's not be easy on Bush either.

I think the evidence is pointing more to BUSH WAS MISLEAD, not BUSH MISLEAD.

Bush had made up his mind he was going to war long before any misleading was done by anyone. "We're going to war, now go get the evidence that we need to". All the intelligence agencies could could up with was a weak case of flim flam "possibilities and maybe could haves". That is where the problem is. Now, it all about playing the old Washington blame game.

May I add:

Your great white father agrees with the treaty which protects your lands as long as the grass grows and the rivers flow.

Remember the Maine!

We don't have a spy planes flying over Russia.

JFK was killed by a lone gunman.

We're winning the war.

The North Vietnamese attacked our ship.

I am not a crook.

I don't recall (pick an administration).

We did not trade arms for hostages.

Read my lips.

Clinton's list is too long.

Did Clinton EVER Lie to get us involved in a War?

Well, let's see:

Somila (1993) Clinton had pledged never to deploy American troops overseas unless U.S. strategic interests were threatened.

Haiti (1994)-- I can't think of a specific lie but I suspect there is one

Bosnia (1995) -- Our troops would be home by Christmas 1997.

Missle strikes (Aug. 20, 1998) -- Leaving aside the coincidence that it came three days after he testified before a grand jury concerning his relationship with "that woman, Miss Lewensky, he claimed a factory in Khartoum, Sudan was making chemical weapons. It was making pharmaceuticals.

Kosovo (March 1999) Leaving aside the coincidence that it came a month after the impeachment vote, he claimed 100,000 Albanians were slaughtered by the Serbs. The estimate is now 3,000.

Bush had made up his mind he was going to war long before any misleading was done by anyone.

It seems so. It appears that the bombings in Iraq in 2002 that the public was told were about "no fly zone" violations were attempts to take out C&C fiber optic networks in Iraq in preparation for a war. WMD's or not- threat or not- Bush wanted this war.

Enough of the blame game--the 16 words are backed by the British intelligence. Period. No lie. The president has to take seriously all information since 9/11.

Is anyone out there serious enough to believe that if Wilson was asked by Cheney tho no written report that the White House did all this blatantly. I don't think Bush is dumb. He would never do that b/c he knows that flies in the wall talk.
