Deeply appreciate your insight, too. Recently there is a deep move to redo history completely. "We didn't care in the past, you had to teach us to value our culture so give back to us that for which you cared enough to risk your lives and pay your fortunes. (And by the way our culture is better than your culture.)"

The problem with that is that no evidence exists that the Jewish people ever were slaves in Egypt, outside of the Old Testament account. Biblical scholars and Egyptologists have searched in vain for any references or clues that would corroborate the Exodus story.
