Haig: Dem Scandal Mongers Helping Saddam, Lack Patriotism

A day after Saddam Hussein echoed the words of Bush administration critics who insist without evidence that the president lied about Iraq's nuclear weapons program, former Secretary of State Alexander Haig warned that Bush's political opponents were deliberately undermining the war effort and demonstrating a lack of patriotism.

"They're giving aid to the enemy," Haig told nationally syndicated radio host Sean Hannity on Friday.

"They're convincing [Saddam loyalists] that we are the same old America that ran out of West Beirut when we had Marines killed; that ran out of Somalia when we had some young soldiers killed; that let Saddam Hussein survive the Gulf War," Haig complained.

The one-time NATO commander said that the criticism reminded him of attacks on President Nixon during Vietnam, "when political opportunity overcame patriotism, love of country and the interests of the American people."

"Many of the Democratic left are antiwar under any circumstances," he noted. "They would surrender before they would fight and give up our freedom rather than protect it."

Haig said that some of Bush's critics "have deluded themselves" into believing the charge that he lied. But others, he said, "are consciously, tongue-in-cheek, playing domestic politics over the vital interests or the country."

Noting that presidential candidate Sen. Bob Graham has in recent days has raised the possibility that Bush could be impeached, Haig said the Florida Democrat had demonstrated "a lack of clear-headed patriotism" in a cynical bid to draw attention to his flagging White House bid.

"That shows a frivolous shallowness and a lack of historic reality and, I think in his case, of clear-headed patriotism," he told Hannity.

Citing reports that Saddam had murdered up to 300,000 of his own citizens, Haig said he was "appalled" by suggestions from some Democrats that Bush "has misled us and dragged us into a war we had no business being in."

"Let me tell you," the one-time top military man added angrily, "it is something that they should pay for."

On Thursday Saddam's Baath Party loyalists released an audiotape purporting to be the deposed Iraqi dictator. In his comments, Hussein echoed Bush's Democratic Party critics, saying:

"What will the two liars, Bush and Blair, say to their people and to humanity. What will they tell the world? . . . The lies were known to the President of the United States and to the Prime Minister of Britain when they decided to wage war on Iraq."

"They're giving aid to the enemy," Haig told nationally syndicated radio host Sean Hannity on Friday. Excellent, I'm glad he said this. I missed Hannity that day.

If this was the Revolutionary War rather than a war against terrorists, these Democrat bums would have been strung-up by now!!

Clinton weakened America so the terrorists could succeed.
In his last days in office he pardoned Puerto Rican terrorists.

Clinton made war against American business and brought on a recession by cooking the books.

If these Democrat scum applied their cricicism fairly to all presidents rather than just to this one, Clinton would have been shot at dawn by a firing squad for high treason!!

I'm glad that Alexander Haig called spade a spade. The rest of the Republican Party is just a bunch of frightened whimps. The Democrat Party is guilty of treason and is prolonging the war and getting innocent American soldiers killed because of their treasonous stance. Every Republican and conservative should be calling these traitors exactly what they are! When it comes to putting our young people in harms way, the entire country should be united in their support against our enemies! Democrats in power will only bring more and more 911s to our shores! You think the American people would wake up! I guess we need about a dozaen 911s to shake these folks into the "reality" of the world the way it really is!

A VERY strong statement! I hope it gets repeated over and over again!

Methinks that when Graham had that heart surgery a few months ago, the surgeons operated on his brain instead.

Agree. . .no question; no argument. Saddam is encouraged daily by our own DemocRAT Party here in America; and by all the anti-Bush/anti-Blair forces out there.

Sickening; Truth, Reason; our Country in jeopardy. . .cannot, will not stop these people from siding with our enemies and giving them aid and comfort.

And Haig is absolutely right.

Here is a great article pointing out that there is plenty of evidence against Iraq:

A smoking gun may be elusive, but proof of intent abounds
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/949149/posts

"The case for deposing Saddam was based on a 12-year history of his regime defying UN resolutions demanding the dismantling of his illegal weapons programs. It also relied on virtual unanimity in the global intelligence community that Iraq had WMD, and the capability to build more."

Secretly the Dems are hoping for another 911 (as long as it's not in their city). Anything for a win in 2004.

"Many of the Democratic left are antiwar under any circumstances," he noted. "They would surrender before they would fight and give up our freedom rather than protect it."

I disagree, they do not hate war as they pretend to believe, rather, they hate America's Christian heritage and our Lord God and Saviour, Jesus Christ. They would and do fight to bring communism to America under the guise of love for the children and diversity(perversity)and racial equality(as long as they control and dominated the religious, political, and corporate world).
They are "coming out of the closet" as the true politically correct, immoral, hate-filled neo-nazis they truly are and have been for over 50 years now.
My question is, will the foolish and self patronizing voters in America ever wake up to the Truth; or is our country already lost?
