JEFFERSON CITY, Missouri (AP) -- Some people began using the acronym shortly after Democratic Gov. Bob Holden went into debt with a $1 million inaugural party. Soon, opponents were chanting it at Capitol rallies.

The not-so-flattering acronym is "OTB" -- "One Term Bob."

Here's hopin' Missouri and her 12 or 11 electoral votes go Republican for Bush in '04...and that the citizenry turns their back, too, on the Democrat state leadership.

Living here in Mo. is a lot of fun. A couple of years ago we elected a dead guy to the US Senate. Since I work in St. Louis with Illinoians, they gave us hell. They said they have the system right, they have the dead voting for the living, not the other way around. The article failed to mention OTB's veto of a "must carry" law for hand-guns. This has not gone over well in a state that breaks down about 50-50 rural/urban. Which might help make him OTB.

Well, in St. Louis mostly, although it is not unheard of in other places. But the mechanics in StL guarentee that no Republican will win a close statewide election. It will ALWAYS be stolen in that corupt urban shxt hole.

Absolutely true. I watch the returns come in. Across the state, the small, hand counted, rural districts always get their returns in before the automated ones in St. Louis. There are always just enough democratic votes to win and they are always reported last.
