I know the latter two stories are a year old, but they show what town kooks like Kanner are doing to the town. I came across these stories on a search for information that I received from a coworker whose spouse was a substitute teacher in Amherst Regional High School. Apparently, the teachers are not allowed to require that the students remain in the class during the lecture! They can be asked to be seated, but if they want to leave at any time during the class to, say, go downtown and get an ice cream, they are permitted to do so!!

I thought that Amherst's problems with the flag were bad, but it appears that the problems run much deeper than I thought. It is like a Bizarro world here, where everything you ever believed is turned upsidedown. Logic is a theory, and commonsense is heresy.

I hope it isn't contagious.

Boy! I guess it's really hard to rev up local anti-Bush sentiment in Amherst. What a tough sell.

This guy most be the most hardworking and charismatic organizer ever.
