[history]
Mr. Speaker and Mr. Vice President, honorable members of Congress, I'm deeply touched by that warm and generous welcome. That's more than I deserve and more than I'm used to, quite frankly.
And let me begin by thanking you most sincerely for voting to award me the Congressional Gold Medal. But you, like me, know who the real heroes are: those brave servicemen and women, yours and ours, who fought the war and risk their lives still.

I wish MadIvan was still around. Like Prime Minister Blair, he was steadfast, unflagging in his support for U.S. policy on Iraq, and like Winston Churchill, he provided insight and rhetorical brilliance whenever it was needed.
Thank you, MadIvan, thank you, Tony Blair.

I, too, considered MadIvan to be an integral part of FR and wish him well wherever, and would wish him back.
Blair sounded awfully good. But I am still somewhat leery of Clintons ol' bud. It is somewhat contradictory to speak of liberty while donating a peoples sovereignty to the EU.

Thanks, tictoc.

Blair sounded awfully good. But I am still somewhat leery of Clintons ol' bud. It is somewhat contradictory to speak of liberty while donating a peoples sovereignty to the EU.'tis a puzzlement. At one and the same time Blair speaks the language of responsibility and of irresponsibility--of American Conservatism and of socialism.

You know, I remember at one of our earliest international meetings, a European prime minister telling President Bush that the solution was quite simple: Just double the tax on American gasoline. At this point about 1/3 of those in attendance aplauded, any guesses on who those that aplauded were.
That's right round up the usual suspects.
