I'm not sure just how much they trust the PA. What they are trying to do is find a peaceful end to this war. Personally I have my doubts that there is one. At least with the PA as it is currently configured. I'll believe it when I see the PA actually do something about the terrorist groups in thier areas.
I do give them some credit for trying...but at some point(Soon I hope) they will have to realize that the problem of peace is on the PA side.

One cannot find a "peaceful" end to the war by cuddling and strengthening the terrorist enemy they refuse to see as such (Arafat-Abbas PLO/PA)
They do not intend on cracking down on terrorism as they are part of it. They are the same people that were around during Oslo's failure 1993-2000.
We legitimize them, allow their offices to remain open in DC, give them money (just last week 20M in DIRECT aid to the PA), shake hands with them, invite them to the white house, etc.
I am disgusted when I see American and Israeli leaders for that matter shake hands with a holocaust denier.
