When I became involved in the pro-life movement, I didnt like the use of graphic pictures of aborted babies as a pro-life strategy. Yup. Describes most of the pro-life movement to a "T"...they somehow think that mere rhetoric--both emotional and cut-and-dried--can reach the heart of calloused folks to change their understanding.
But my opinion changed after personal reflection and reading of history . . .
The West never got bent out of shape about the holocaust until they saw photos, video footage, or actual firsthand visualization.

I believe the use of graphic photos is needed, at times, to make people realize the severity, magnitude and horror of certain events. I really wish we had seen more of the carnage that took place on Sept. 11, 2001. If people had seen pictures or video of the finality of the WTC jumpers, body part retrieval, or the interior of temporary morgues, maybe it would leave a lasting impression of the beasts we are dealing with. I wish the collapse of the Towers were shown before every major newscast. All this would be gruesome, but it would keep us focused on the need for the War on Terrorism.

Uh oh, you're treading on dangerous ground; the FR censor is always on the look-out. By the way - I want to start demonstrating at our local death chamber (Planned Parenthood on Van Ness in Fresno CA). Can someone please tell me exactly what I can and cannot do to avoid getting arrested? Thank you very much.

Almost 10% of all abortions committed in the U.S. annually are of women living in the "New York City" area.>>>>
That means NJ too.
Join Fr. Peter West, Protest NOW in NYC, Thursday, July 10,
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/942260/posts Rescheduled to the 28th of July, PFL may not be there since the priests can be scheduled anywhere in the country to give a talk.
These signs are very effective in busy, public places (I've used them before) but should NOT be used at the Abortion Mills when the mothers are entering; what it does is scare, enrage and disgusts the mothers so much that they try to run away from the pics (towards the entrance to the mill) as quickly as possible thus not giving any time for the sidewalk counselor to do what they have to do.

Did you look at Emmett's picture? If so, with whom did you become angry, the picture-taker or the people who did that to Emmett?>>>
You can say the same thing about the Holocaust too, a picture is worth a thousand words. I have a neighbor who helped liberate Dachau, he turned 18 just as the war was ending so he guarded the German butchers in prison and helped feed and transport the Holocaust Survivors to medical facilities. It pains him to talk about how the people were treated and looked when he arrived.

It is indisputable that it was the pictures of Emmett Tills murdered, mutilated body, and not just his story on its own merit, that sparked another movement not so long ago to stop others like Emmett from being treated as nonpersons.Did you look at Emmett's picture? If so, with whom did you become angry, the picture-taker or the people who did that to Emmett?
The logic is irrefutable.
