50,000 people go to a baseball game, but the game was rained out. A refund is then due. The team is about to mail refunds when the Congressional Democrats stopps them and decrees that they send out refund amounts based on the Democrat National Committee's interpretation of fairness. After all,if the refunds are made based on the price each person paid for the tickets, most of the money would go to the wealthiest ticket holders. That would be unconscionable!

Out of curiosity, what were the verses?

Good question. "Judas went out and hung himself," isn't one that I'd clammer to have put back up.

Looks like it's the King James Version of 3 Verses from the Book of Psalm

68:4 Sing to God, sing praises to his name; lift a song up to him who rids upon the clouds; his name is the Lord, exult before him!

66:4 All the earth worships thee; they sing praises to thee, sing praises to thy name.

104:24 O Lord how manifold are thy works! In wisdom hast thou made them all; the earth is full of thy creatures.

I saw the plaques when I visited the Grand Canyon and thought they were wonderful.

But I think the fight to get them put back will be futile unless we find a sympathetic Judge...and even then the ACLU types will never give up until they get and keep the verses out.

IMHO arguing to keep Bible verses at any Federal buildings or parks is a losing battle.

I haven't heard a lot of Dennis, but what I did hear sounded pretty 'militant' - and I use that in the good sense.

He spoke of civil disobedience and "whatever it takes."

Great minds think alike! If I could think of any verse to describe the Grand Canyon it would be Ma rabbu ma'asecha Hashem! Kulam b'hachmah asisa! (O.T. original)

He has never voiced himself like this before. He has never asked us to participate before, so I think he is very serious about this.

All the other religions will also want the same special treatment. Not a good idea.

What special treatment?? WHAT SPECIAL TREATMENT?? Having three stinkin' verses from the best-selling book in the history of the world posted in three remote locations?? Is that special treatment? Never mind that to multiple millions around the world and throughout history that book has been considered holy.

Sorry, Consort, not mad at you. This whole thing just sickens me, and for some reason it has bothered me more than just about anything the ACLU has ever pulled. God creted that canyon and to wipe out any mention of Him is a desecration.

What special treatment?? WHAT SPECIAL TREATMENT??

If it's allowed for one religion only, then it's special treatment. If it's allowed for all religions, then it's a bad idea.

What about the "special treatment" that the ACLU gets for their religion?? All they need is a "letter of concern" and bingo, the entire apparatus of the Federal Government swings into action to serve their whims. How does a fringe group get so much power? When did we vote the ACLU into becoming the arbiters of culture?
