The Palestinian terrorist, who wounded two and killed one in yesterday's terror attack in Tel Aviv, was stopped by a 30-year old lawyer who shot him in the legs.
The terror attack took place on Tel Aviv's seaside promenade at around 1:30am, police spokesperson Gil Kleiman told The Jerusalem Post. One of the victims, a man, died in hospital, and a woman was in critical condition, Magen David Adom emergency medical rescue workers said.
The terrorist, who was from East Jerusalem, stabbed the security guard at the Tel Aviv restaurant Tarabin after taking a few steps inside, shouting "Allahu Akhbar," Gili Magmezi, Tarabin's proprietor told the Jerusalem Post.
At least one chair was thrown at the attacker and he fled the restaurant stabbing two people as he ran along the promenade by the Mediterranean Sea.
The lawyer, from Tel Aviv, took another security guard's gun from an adjoining restaurant, called Yaffa, and chased the terrorist down the street, firing several rounds, one of which hit him in the leg. Once the terrorist was on the ground, he was attacked by a number of pursuers, crushing his skull against the pavement of Goldman Street.
One of the attacker's victims, Amir Simchon, 24, died of knife wounds. Police said after interrogating the attacker that he is affiliated with Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades. However, both Fatah leaders and leaders of various cells of the Al-Aqsa Martyr Brigades, which are affiliated Fatah, deny any involvement n the attack
Simchon, who worked at a medical clinic in Bat-Yam, was a member of the civil guard, as well as a Border Policeman, and was dedicated to community building between Jews and Arabs in Jaffa, according to long-time friend Rafael Asael, 24, from Tel Aviv.
Asael added that Simchon almost always carried a weapon on him, and had he carried it on Monday night, he might have saved both himself and others.
The Palestinian attacker was taken to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv, where police interrogated him. Besides claiming to be affiliated with Al-Aqsa, the Palestinian also told police that he had arrived in Tel Aviv in a white Fiat Uno. Police launched a search for the car, using helicopters and placing roadblocks in the area.
Ironically, the Tarabin restaurant, located between Tel Aviv and Jaffa, was moved from last year from south of the Jaffa port because people were not coming due to fear of terror. It is frequented by both Arabs and Jews.
While the attack has threatened the relative calm since the unilateral truce declaration on June 29, Jaffa residents are concerned about its immediate impact on local businesses.
"The situation is very sensitive right now. There are some groups that are trying to take advantage of the Arabs in Jaffa," said an Arab storeowner, who requested not to be identified. "This is a provocation and we need to emphasize that it was not one of us that did this attack."
He added that business in the area is dead, due to attacks that pushed away daily business in Jaffa. For instance, while Jewish-Arab relations in the city are "good", he said, there was no business in the area on Tuesday, immediately following the attack.
The attack in Tel Aviv came hours after Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas pledged to enforce the cease-fire. "Unfortunately there are some violations of the truce, and we will deal with them in accordance with the law," he said.
Listen to the man, Israelis. He speaks the truth.

Interesting details in this article.
Gun up, my Hebrew brothers- and stay gunned up. Always.
Why didn't the lawyer shoot him in the head and vital body until the perp was dead? Now the stupid shmuck will have to sue himself.
A gun in the hand is worth two in the safe - bang!
And there are 1.2 BILLION of them worldwide...
Probably he didn't see the entire incident, and had to react too quickly to determine if there was a wider attack.
Keeping the attacker alive (but immobile), allows an interrogation to find out if he was sent by a larger militia group (and serves as evidence of a violation of the cease-fire).
