Cal...you are peaking my interest in birdwatching!
Lori...there are scrub jays all over my folks golf course in Florida. They are so used to people feeding them that they will come right up to you..look for food in the golf cart etc. You have to be very careful not to leave any food out NOT intended for them!

All of us with 'critters' know that critters think everything is for them :)
I think you can include 'children' with the critters listing too.

You have to be very careful not to leave any food out NOT intended for them! LOL. We were eating at a restaurant in Brisbane, al fresco, and had a huge Ibis join us. He was insisting he was going to share our lunch. We won out and managed to keep him away. If he had been much bigger, we might have had to let him join us. LOL. I guess they are used to getting scraps off the tables.
We heard so many interesting bird calls in Australia. We couldn't see most of them in the trees, but their songs were almost jungle-like. Very different from the bird calls here. I wished I had more time to discover what birds were in the area. I asked a couple locals if they knew what kind of birds we were hearing, but they didn't seem to know. I guess they were just commonplace birds to them.
