Our Judges Should Embody Fairness and Respect
Stop Bush from Appointing Unqualified Judges
Since February, Senate Democrats have blocked the arch-conservative Migel Estrada from getting appointed to the Federal Appellate Court. It is time for them to step up again
The Senate is expected to vote by the end of July on the confirmation of the next truly offensive judicial nominee, Carolyn Kuhl, who has a record of attempting to undermine laws protecting basic civil rights:
She favored weakening laws against sexual harassment in the workplace; She supported tax exemptions for Bob Jones University, despite its racist policies; She advocates overturning laws giving environmental, labor, and other organizations the right to defend their members' interests in court. We are joining these groups in calling upon our Senators to refuse lifetime tenure for Kuhl as a federal appellate judge:
AFL-CIO
Feminist Majority
National Council for Jewish Women
People for the American Way
United Farm Workers
National Organization for Women
TOPICS: Constitution/Conservatism; Government; News/Current Events; Philosophy
KEYWORDS: carolynkuhl; judicialappointments; judicialnominees
This is the latest email from MoveOn.org. Keep in mind that this is the group that originally attracted members because who did not want to see a rush to war in Iraq.

What I found really over the top is that the email says "Stop Bush from Appointing Unqualified Judges", yet it writes only about some of her positions and some of the groups which oppose her. What is the implication...that anyone who disagrees with this group is "unqualified"?
Arrogance or deviousness? You decide.

Carolyn Kuhl, who has a record of attempting to undermine laws protecting basic civil rights: Yes, because we all know liberal judicial appointments do no such thing. /sarcasm

She favored weakening laws against sexual harassment in the workplace; Pretty ironic for an organization whose genesis was urging people to ignore the Rapist-in-Chief's sexual harassment of his subordinate, Monica Lewinsky.
