I have long contended that our socialist system of government is in fact nothing but a renovation of the ancient system of aristocracy. Whenever you have different rules and punishment for people based upon their status, in this case the status of being a government employee, you have
injustice (although the ones receiving the preferential treatment would of course argue against you).
A good example of this has occurred recently in Oklahoma City where John Carl Marquez was arrested for suspicion of beating his wife and faces a year in prison and a fine. During the arrest, the man also spit in an arresting officers face.
Guess what his sentence was for spitting in the officers face?
The man was given a life sentence!
Think about that for a minute, a year in prison for beating your wife seems appropriate if not a little light. Compare this to the sentence given for spitting on a public servant. Some may argue that the sentences are backward but Draconianism is not the sign of a free or just society.
The rationale given for this special protection for federal "lords" is that spittle or other bodily fluids (apparently putting your bodily fluids on a federal employee carries a life sentence, be careful not to bleed on that federal cop when he pistol whips you) can transmit AIDS. Apparently only federal officials can get AIDS from being spit on. The rest of us, if we are spat upon by our fellow man will just have to settle for a misdemeanor arrest or a handi-wipe. I doubt there is any penalty at all for a federal official spitting on a citizen, certainly not a life sentence.
Go to your local post office and you will notice the prominently displayed signs warning you that striking a federal postal employee is a felony (whereas striking anyone else, not of the privileged class, is simply a misdemeanor). I often wonder why these signs are so prominent at the post office, could it be the Post Office has a reputation for hiring surly public servants? Equal treatment under the law is a bulwark of any free society, sadly though we have ceased to be free. Another example might be what happens when a police officer is killed, on or off duty. The entire police department goes into hyper-drive to catch the alleged perpetrator in record time! While I applaud the extraordinary efforts by the police to capture a potential murderer, why do they not do this when the average citizen is killed?
On the same line of thought, if you shoot your neighbor or any average citizen, you will be tried for murder or possibly only manslaughter. If, however, you shoot a cop, you will be tried for capital murder which carries a much more serious penalty. While I believe that a murderer should receive a stiff sentence, paying with their own life in most cases, why is it that only those who kill cops seem to get the maximum sentence?
Defenders of this system will of course argue that "those who would kill a cop are more of a menace to society" but I don't see any empirical evidence of this. While those who kill a cop are no doubt a menace, aren't those who kill us "ordinary" citizens a menace as well? I think there are a number of mass murderers out there who targeted ordinary citizens and that isn't even counting the state sponsored murder of innocent citizens!
Some other things that point to this aristocracy mentality are:
During a down or bad economy when average citizens lose their jobs, receive no raises or bonuses and have to give back some of their benefits, federal "aristocrats" receive promotions and bonuses?
When the average citizen or business owner can not pay their bills, they cut back on their spending. When a bureaucrat can not pay their bills, they simply raise the taxes of the citizens.
Government employees can retire at 25 years and receive a guaranteed stipend for life, citizens are lucky to get any retirement at all, certainly not after 25 years.
Government employees have top notch health insurance, the guy sweeping the street has a better benefits package and retirement program than the poor Joe or Jane who pays his salary.
When a citizen does a bad job at work, they are disciplined and sometimes fired. When a government employee does a bad job they are not fired and sometimes are promoted.
If a government employee kills or abuses the civil rights of a citizen, he is often given millions of dollars in taxpayer funded legal assistance (if he is not outright granted immunity from prosecution) If a citizen so much as spits on a government employee he will be given a sham trial, provided with incompetent legal counsel and hauled away to some dark dungeon of a federal prison or executed.
Could it be that the government and more specifically, our public servants believe that they are entitled to special treatment? I think the evidence is quite clear that they do. I believe that as this bad economy exposes more of the arrogance and elitist mentality of our "public servants", many more citizens will lend their support to returning to a Constitutional Republic. Perhaps the rationale will be as simple as a desire to see these arrogant and foolish servants returned to the private sector for a dose of reality.

The seeds of revolution.
Watch those senate confirmation hearings and if you publicly state your beliefs and sincerity you are vetted - crucified ... there is supposed to be no religious - ideological special interest test for office and now the supreme court has established them ... abortion - pornographt - evolution - gun control - racial - sexual preferences especially !
We have two royal houses. The House of Democrats and the House of Republicans that make the House of Windsor, Hapsburg, Romanov etc. pale by comparison.
Lorentz is an idiot who doesnt have a clue. He must have been battling Black UN Helicoptors too much. Bureaucrats dont raise taxes to pay their bills. Congress does. Who does Congress report to? To us citizens.
Government employees can retire at 25 years and receive a guaranteed stipend for life, citizens are lucky to get any retirement at all, certainly not after 25 years.
If Lorentz feels that government employees get such an unfair deal, why doenst he become one and receive a guaranteed retirement too. Wondering with his military background if he may be a little hypicritical. Wonder if he is qualifying for pension after twenty years as a government employee?
What Lorentz glosses over is when these retirement programs were set up, government workers were paid significantly less in salary than comparable workers in the private sector. The retirement programs and other benefits were being offered by the government in lieu of higher salaries to hold down government spending in the current fiscal year.
Government employees have top notch health insurance, the guy sweeping the street has a better benefits package and retirement program than the poor Joe or Jane who pays his salary.
So what? No one is stopping Lorentz from taking a civil service exam and going to work for the feds. His military experience probably gives him a leg up on entry. That said, government employees have good health benefits because of a strong public service union that up until '94 was in fed constantly by the Dems in congress.
When a citizen does a bad job at work, they are disciplined and sometimes fired. When a government employee does a bad job they are not fired and sometimes are promoted.
In past that was because of civil service protections to keep politicians from firing current employees and replacing them all with patronage employees following each election. Its a lot easier today to fire a federal employee than it was 20 years ago.
Oh PULLEASE... what a crock. Proof this "sham trial" and "dungeon" crap. Lorentz must be a Libertarian smoking his stash.
Since the police exist specifically to maintain order and protect civilians, wouldn't the murder of a civilian by definition be more serioius than that of a "public servant"?? I also have often thought that the penalty for assaulting, murdering, etc. a public employee should be a LITTLE less severe than the penalty for the same offense when committed against a civilian, as it might preserve the mindset in both the public and civilian populations of who is supposed to be in charge and who is supposed to be there to execute the commands of the other group.
What if the situation is that it is a police officer who is shooting body fluids/gasses/solids onto another police officer? What punishment will he get?
On the evening of Oct. 26, 1998, Trooper Samuel M. Derugen Jr., of Troop G in Rockview, was at a party at a fellow trooper's home to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers game.By the end of the night, the only guests left were Derugen and five other unnamed troopers. A few of the troopers started wrestling, and Derugen walked up to them and passed gas, according to the internal-affairs report. He did not, as was originally alleged, try to defecate on the head of the trooper that was being held down, Derugen and other troopers told internal affairs.
He did admit to what happened next.
"I stood up in a chair, pulled my pants down enough to bare my buttock and inserted a two-inch carrot into my rectum," he wrote in an Oct. 18, 1998, statement to Lt. Michael J. Hample, patrol section supervisor at Troop G, Hollidaysburg.
"I then tightened my abdomen forcing the carrot out of my rectum and fly approximately three feet across the room," he continued. "The mentioned troopers were laughing and calling me a 'sick f-----.' I said, 'You think that's sick and funny, watch this,' and I ate the carrot.
What are you smoking? They report to large PACs and corporations that fund their campaigns. They don't represent the people anymore, that's the sham.
What Lorentz glosses over is when these retirement programs were set up, government workers were paid significantly less in salary than comparable workers in the private sector
Which is no longer true.
Its a lot easier today to fire a federal employee than it was 20 years ago.
My father just retired from the a large branch of the federal government after 30 years of service. He would inform you otherwise.
Do you by chance work for the government?
Do you bother to vote or do you even believe the crap you are shoveling? If you really believe you cant vote them out because of the PAC's and corporations, then what are you doing on here? Just looking for an opportunity to whine?
Do you by chance work for the government?
NO. I dont but my father did. He also had to contribute to his own retirement fund so it wasnt like he just got a lot of largess for working for the Post Office for 25 years after serving six years in the Army, including a year in an Army hospital after receiving his third Purple Heart.
Since motor voter, fraud reigns in the land. That neither party even bothers to protect the right of citizen's votes not to be diluted by wholesale fraud is additional proof that the article is correct.
