Talin Kaloustian was shocked when she heard she had competition from three other buyers for a 752-square-foot one-bedroom condominium in Mountain View.

There are plenty of houses and condos for sale in Santa Clara County. But Silicon Valley home sales boomed in June and are still going strong, according to local real estate experts, and there's often competition for the best-priced, most desirable homes.

Wow, Interesting because I used to work with Talin. She is very nice but lived at home too long. (Good engineer too.) Glad she got her first house.

My sister is banking on selling her home in Silicon Valley in a year or too. Perhaps the market will hold and even help her more. But this means jobs are coming back to the valley and with the recent run up in the NASDAQ, it means the economy in technologh may have a run up too.

50,000 people go to a baseball game, but the game was rained out. A refund is then due. The team is about to mail refunds when the Congressional Democrats stopps them and decrees that they send out refund amounts based on the Democrat National Committee's interpretation of fairness. After all,if the refunds are made based on the price each person paid for the tickets, most of the money would go to the wealthiest ticket holders. That would be unconscionable!

Well, 752 square feet is a little bigger than a cell in Alcatraz, so there's still room for more immigrants.
