We endured nine, long miserable months in Groton, MA, while my husband was on the Air Force's Education with Industry assignment at Burlington, VT. I have never seen weather like I saw in that whole area and never want to see it again.

The day the mover's packed up the moving van and took off, my husband asked me if I wanted to stay in Worchestire,MA, for the night with the three kids. I told him I was not spending one more night in MA and we drove to NY to spend the night. My two oldest kids still remember that and laugh about it!

I just watched this entire thing... what a great day for the US Navy and the USA. I especially liked when the Captain was being introduced to take command of the ship. Very Impressive!

On another note:
Clinton will have a old wooden shack in the backwoods of Arkansas that houses a ugly toothless hooker dedicated to him.

I had to leave for awhile. Did I miss the Champagne bottle being broken on the ship or don't they do that anymore?

Nuclear power makes sense, which is why liberals will never understand it.

LOL Good one!

They do that at the launching of a ship, not at its commissioning. For the Reagan, that happened quite some time ago. Nancy did the honors.

Let's hope the Carter has a better commander then Jimmy was commander and chief.

Thanks for posting that picture! I needed that after Tony Snow and his questions to Senator Warner! My respect for Snow is near bottom anyways and today's questions didn't help that. Senator Warner did a fantastic job of answering!

A truly impressive and inspiring ceremony for the commissioning of a great ship named after the most loved President of the United States since George Washington, Ronald Reagan.

The men and woman of this ship will have a lot to live up to. They must be very proud to be serving in the newest Supercarrier to project the power of the world's only Super Power, the United States of America. This is especially notable since Ronald Reagan is the one man most responsible for reducing the Super Powers of the world from two to one.

Watching this ceremony reminds me once again why I am proud to be an American and why I am so proud of the men and women of our armed forces who serve to keep out Nation great and Free.

God Bless you, Ronald Reagan.

PhiKapMom, who chooses the names for the vessels? Please tell me that Clinton can't get his name on one.

There's a Groton, Massachusetts as well.
