Singer receives World Technology Award for Ethics
<Posted 07/09/2003 10:18>
Peter Singer, the Ira DeCamp Professor of Bioethics in the University Center for Human Values, has been named the winner of the 2003 World Technology Award for Ethics.
The award was presented by the World Technology Network, an organization whose members are dedicated to the business and science of emerging technologies such as biotechnology and new energy sources.
The awards, which were announced at the World Technology Summit in late June, honor individuals and corporations from 20 technology-related sectors selected by their peers as innovators. Award categories range from biotechnology, space and energy to ethics, design and entertainment.
"I am delighted to have been selected by my peers as a winner of the 2003 World Technology Award in the ethics category," Singer said. "The fact that the World Technology Network has an ethics award at all is a recognition of the importance of keeping ethics in mind as we move forward with new technologies in a wide variety of fields, from genetics to computing."

The money is provided by biotechnology companies? No doubt they like Singer because he approves of cloning, fetal tissue research, and various other ways of slicing and dicing babies. He even approves of killing unwanted babies in their first year, which might prove useful for these firms in the future.

He has been described as "a very smart moral lunatic
noted for championing with equal fanaticism the rights of animals and the rightness of eliminating unfit human beings, born and unborn." (First Things, Feb 1999, p.75).

A member of the University of Delaware staff and I FReeped this guy when he spoke there about 2 years ago. We passed out copies of an article from First Thngs about Singer, and the event planner called the campus police on us, but they didn't charge us with anything because I broke out the university code of conduct with its free speech clause.

I thought he was the Joseph Mengele Professor of Bioethics.

The pure, lab scientists giving each other awards for ethics is a joke. Has to be.

Prof. Singer brought his girlfriend, Besty the Cow, to the ceremony.

INTREP - you have got to be kidding!!!!!!!!! This person (I won't call him a gentleman) has the ethics of a cur dog. He thinks we can kill babies in the first few weeks of their lives if the don't appear right...and while we are at it, he thinks we can do away with seasoned citizens when they outlive their usefulness!!!!

It's a real pity that Andrew "Dice" Clay isn't active these days.
Considering the politically-incorrect broadsides he'd launch at some of
our society's sacred cows...
I'd love to hear him tell us what he thinks about Singer.

Shameful, sadistic, and sickening bunch of lunatics!
The nominating members of this wacked out excuse of human being are: Prof. Norman Daniels - Harvard School of Public Health
Prof. Raanan Gillon - Imperial College London
Dr. James H. Moor - Dartmouth College
Prof. Simon Rogerson - De Montfort University
How about the Daniels character? Public health no less...more like public destruction.
