Recall Davis Rally on Sat. July 26 *ATTN CALIFORNIA FREEPERS*
Recall Gray Davis Committee ^ | 07/11/2003 | The Honorable Howard Kaloogian

Posted on 07/11/2003 11:15:46 AM PDT by Impeach98

Saturday, July 26 - 10 AM- 2 PM
Recall Gray Davis RALLY/FAIRE
We Need You in Sacramento

[State Capitol Building North Steps – 10th & L]

*Featuring the leaders of the Recall Gray Davis movement and candidates for governor in the recall election.

*Radio stations and popular hosts from throughout the state who supported the recall effort. Also entertainment including live music.

*Games for the kids including a Carnival Midway, Bounce House, Face Painting, Baloons and more.

*Hot dogs, popcorn, snow cones, lots of water and other refreshments.

On Saturday, July 26 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM we will be rallying our supporters at the State Capitol. This won’t be any normal political rally – sure we’ll have speeches by the leading supporters of the recall effort.

But, what will be different is that this will be part rally and part celebration. We’ve accomplished a great deal by collecting enough signatures to qualify the first recall election against a statewide elected official in California history. But we have a lot of hard work ahead of us to ensure the YES on RECALL campaign succeeds.

Radio stations and their hosts and staff from all over the state will be coming to Sacramento and setting up booths at the Recall Gray Davis Rally & Faire. This will be a great day for the entire family to come out and enjoy a full range of activities for everyone (including the kids).

But most importantly we need to show the world the size and strength of the recall effort. We are inviting every media outlet in the state and the leading national and international news organizations to come and cover this Recall Gray Davis Rally & Faire.

We must have thousands of supporters hailing from every part of the state – and from every political party – represented.

So won’t you please RSVP to the following email address right away:

Rally@RecallGrayDavis.com

DISCOUNT HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS

When considering hotel accommodations we recommend as one option the Best Western Sutter House/Ponderosa Inn. Located at 11th + H Streets in downtown Sacramento the hotel is just a few blocks away from the State Capitol and best of all – they’ve offered a special discount to anyone who calls and asks for the “Recall Gray Davis” room special for the weekend of July 25-27.

The Best Western Sutter House/Ponderosa Inn
Telephone: (916) 441-1314

Mention “Recall Gray Davis” and Receive the Special Discounted Rate

You may also FAX reservations to: (916) 441-5961.

The information they need for your reservation:

Name
Address
Credit Card
Expiration Date
Arrival and Departure Date

DISCOUNT AIRFARE

There are still $60 fun fares available on Southwest Airlines for San Diego to Sacramento and Los Angeles to Sacramento flights. Logon to www.Southwest.com to book a reservation and lock in these great rates.

United Airlines through their United Express/Skywest service also has airfare between southern California airports and Sacramento for as little as $183.00 roundtrip. Logon to www.United.com for reservations and more information.

DISCOUNT GROUND TRANSPORTATION

If flying isn’t your style, you can also make it to the giant Sacramento rally by bus! Greyhound has some incredibly cheap deals from every conceivable part of the state to Sacramento. Plus, you can receive additional discounts if you are a member of the military, a senior citizen, or a student. Check out www.Greyhound.com for more information.

Amtrak also offers some good alternatives to flying or taking a long bus trip. It also is a good service for those in the Bay Area who don’t like to deal with traffic. A roundtrip from Oakland to Sacramento will cost you about $35 and the Amtrak station is downtown – not too far from lodging options, including our recommendation that you take advantage of the Recall Gray Davis Committee discount at the Best Western Sutter House/Ponderosa Inn. Go to www.Amtrak.com for schedules and fares.

BRING YOUR MOTORHOMES!!!!

We have a lot of supporters who own a motorhome or trailer who have expressed interest in driving to the Sacramento area and camping for the weekend and bringing their RV to the State Capitol for the rally.

For a listing of campgrounds and RV parks in the area CLICK HERE. You can also search online for great camping opportunities in the Sierra Nevada Mountains including the Tahoe National Forest Area.

Some other campgrounds in the region include the Auburn KOA [website: CLICK HERE] and a couple others with listing information HERE and finally the Auburn State Recreation Area [CLICK HERE]

Please help spread word. Also - help me get word to JimRob that we need to have a FreeRepublic.com booth there. It will be absolutely free of course and we'll help provide tables, chairs, etc... we just need to get some good signage and FreeRepublic.com promotional materials. There will be a lot of people there who believe it or not will never have heard of FR!!!

That sounds like the best thing to happen in conservative politics since Dan's Bake Sale! Imagine 10,000 conservatives, all gathered on Gray Davis' front lawn. I bet the little weasel will be hiding under his desk that day!

Tatoo Chick, you are crazy. Conservatives in California don't DO rally's. They want everyone else to do the work, they would rather pray for someone else to make it happen. I hope I am wrong, but I won't be, you'll see.

KSFO listeners are charting a bus to come up. I think there is a different breed of conservative out there today -- they want to be active and take our state back!

I like your sentiment. Although I fear the comments made about conservatives having a tendency to not show up might have some merit. But I will be there!

And I'll chant!!

I haven't heard anything out of him since he declared his run for president in 2004.

I do know that the IRS raided some of his businesses, so I think he might be in jail.

See if you can get him as one of the convicts who picks up trash.

Countrygirl - you are totally wrong in your assessment of Californians rallying. There were plenty of us organizing and participating in support our troops rallies. During the 2000 election, I participated in three rallies - 2 in LA at the Federal Building. No, I won't be at this rally - I'm picking up my kid from Camp.

If Sacramento wasn't so far away, some freepers from Ventura County would be there in a heartbeat. We had a lot of support the troops action and a number of us were involved in a local "No Tax" rally just a few weeks ago at our local city hall. I think the "older" generation of conservatives (non-baby boomers) are more hesitant to rally, express their opinions, etc. but a lot of us boomers are sick and tired of the status quo. I would love to go to Sac but my hubby is out of town and somebody has to watch the kids.

Today, the first major Democrat came out in FAVOR of the recall -- former San Jose Mayor Tom McEnery. This is the beginning of it. There is going to be a bunch of them in this race before it is over.

The question is: How many of these Democrats will be OUT by the rally and be there with bells on?
